摘要: A molecular sensor that utilises dichroism can be used to identify the presence of specific molecules in a substance. The molecular sensor includes a sensor element comprising (i) a scaffold moiety and (ii) one or more receptor molecules for the target molecule attached to the scaffold moiety to form a scaffold/receptor complex, wherein the scaffold/receptor complex is modified to incorporate a chromophore and the modified scaffold/receptor complex has a high aspect ratio.

摘要: Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Detektion eines chiralen Analyten. Dabei wird ein chiraler Analyt 3 mit einem achiralen supramolekularen Wirt-Gast-Komplex 4 aus einem Cucurbituril 1 und einem Farbstoff 2 in einer wässrigen Lösung in Kontakt gebracht. Es bildet sich ein chiraler supramolekularer Wirt-Farbstoff-Analyt-Komplex 5. Der Analyt 3 allein zeigt kein charakteristisches ICD-Spektrum 6, während der chirale supramolekulare Wirt-Farbstoff-Analyt-Komplex 5 ein für den Analyten 3 spezifisches ICD-Spektrum 7 zeigt. Die Erfindung ermöglicht damit einen empfindlichen und spezifischen Nachweis von chiralen Analyten mit aromatischen Erkennungsmotiven.

摘要: A differential method has been developed which determines displacement from a defined point of optical transmission (e.g., ±45° from null, or null 90° and parallel 0°) and utilizes the coupled nature of the two signals for common mode noise rejection and signal enhancement. The first beam (146) and orthogonal beam (148) are converted into electrical signals (150) (152) before a differential comparison (170) of the signals is performed to detect a desired chiral species within the chiral mixture.
