摘要： Various embodiments of a single structure multiple mode antenna are described. The antenna is preferably constructed of a single layer having a first inductor coil that is electrically connected in series with a second inductor coil. The antenna is constructed having a plurality of electrical connections positioned along the first and second inductor coils. A plurality of terminals facilitates connection of the electrical connections thereby providing numerous electrical connection configurations and enables the antenna to be selectively tuned to various frequencies and frequency bands.

The EM probe comprises a spiral antenna conductor (not shown) and an EM radiation absorbing layer (92) mounted along the antenna. The EM radiation absorbing layer has a plurality of substantially concentric frame shaped regions (93A-C) corresponding to portions of said spiral antenna having equal surface of antenna conductor, any of said plurality of concentric frame shaped regions has an EM radiation absorption coefficient different than any other of said neighbouring concentric frame shaped regions.

The converged network includes a distributed antenna system hub coupled to the communication lines for wireless communications, horizontal cabling to carry communication lines for wired communications and wireless communications and a remote socket. The horizontal cabling is a duct that carries the wired and wireless communication lines to convey the telecommunication signals within the building. The remote socket connects the wireless communication lines with a remote electronics unit. In addition, one or more antennas can also be coupled to the remote socket to convey analog RF electrical radiation from the remote socket over adhesive backed coaxial cabling to the indoor environment.

An antenna coil (AL) and a capacitor (CO) form an antenna resonant circuit (AR). An impedance matching circuit composed of capacitors (C1, C2, C3), a first coil (L1), and a second coil (L2) is provided between the antenna resonant circuit (AR) and a wireless IC (11). The first coil (L1) and the second coil (L2) are magnetically coupled.
