The cartridge 20 is rotated at a speed corresponding to a centrifugal force G, with the axis of the centrifuge tube 10 as the center, when the centrifugal force G toward the tip direction of the centrifuge tube 10 is applied to the centrifuge tube 10, with the cartridge 20 inserted into the centrifuge tube 10.

A multiple vane paddle is mounted on a shaft (26) that is rotatably mounted on the tumbling container. The paddle vanes have angular edges. As the tumbler (14) and the paddle rotate, powder (P) is repeatedly dropped onto the screen to be sifted with the aid of the paddle. Further rotation of the tumbler drops unsifted portions of the powder from the screen to mix with additional powder in the tumbler body. Thus, sifting and blending of the powder is accomplished in mere single operation. The invention utilizes an apparatus having a multiple section screen and a multiple section paddle to enable assembly through the openings provided in the tumbling container.
