PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame suppression material of a new composition, having an excellent flame suppression effect and effectively extinguishing fire by a foam-type fire extinguishing agent. SOLUTION: The flame suppression material is an aggregate of bulky floating bodies 11, which may be floated so as to cover a flammable liquid. Each floating body 11 includes a buoyancy generating core body 13 formed of a hollow or porous body, and a foamable or porous fireproof layer 15 formed in contact with the buoyancy generating core body 13. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wooden member having excellent durability, and to provide a coating composition for a woody base material to be used for the wooden member, and a method for protecting the woody base material using the coating composition.SOLUTION: A wooden member includes a coating film formed of a coating composition in the whole or a part of a surface of a woody base material. Moisture permeability of the coating film is 0.2-80 g/m24 hr, and a rate of elongation at rupture measured according to JIS A6021:2011 of the coating composition is 200-500%. Tensile strength of the coating composition measured according to JIS A6021:2011 is preferably ≥0.60 N/mm. The thickness of the coating film is preferably 0.05-5.00 mm.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-shielding coating that is capable of forming a new heat-shielding coating film to be expected to further improve heat-shielding performance (increase in solar reflectance).SOLUTION: A heat-shielding coating is obtained by dispersing spherical fine particles made of a metal oxide and rutile-type titanium oxide having a specific particle diameter into a synthetic resin and forms a heat-shielding coating film. The median size of the spherical fine particles (former) is 0.1-1.5 μm and that of the titanium oxide (latter) having the specific particle diameter is 0.5-2.0 μm. The blending ratio of the titanium oxide having the specific particle diameter to the spherical fine particles is the latter/the former =0.2 to 0.8.
