PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston assembly not needing to arrange a seal member between a piston body and a piston rod and capable of shortening the whole length of a product, a fluid pressure cylinder, and a method for manufacturing the piston assembly.SOLUTION: A piston body 13 in a piston assembly 10A of a fluid pressure cylinder has a first piston member 40 and a second piston member 42 composed of a plate-shaped member. The first piston member 40 and the second piston member 42 are joined in a state overlapping in the axial direction of a piston rod 15. The second piston member 42 is not provided with a hole that passes through in the plate thickness direction.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction stir apparatus capable of suppressing generation of surface defects in a part processed by friction-stir, and to provide a friction stir process. SOLUTION: The friction stir apparatus 100A comprises a tool 13 having a columnar pin 12, a turning and pressing mechanism 25 for turning the tool 13 around the center axis and pressing the pin 12 against a workpiece 10, a holding tool 15 having a tool insertion hole 16 into which the tool 13 is inserted so that the outer circumference of the pin 12 is surrounded, and a pressing and oscillating mechanism 11 for pressing the holding tool 15 against the workpiece 10. The pin 12 is gradually drawn out of the workpiece 10 while relatively moving the tool 13, the holding tool 15, and the workpiece 10, from a state where the tool 13 is turned and the tip of the pin 12 is sunk into the workpiece 10 to a predetermined depth. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce piston friction and wear characteristics without disadvantaging oil consumption and fuel consumption. SOLUTION: Pockets 24 for retaining lubricant to reduce friction between a cylinder bore wall 16 and a piston 14 is formed to the wall 16 of at least one cylinder bore 10 for slidingly supporting the piston 14. In this case, the pockets 24 are elongate and have axes which are substantially parallel to the axis of the cylinder bore. The pockets 24 are located at a first region (a) supporting the piston 14 when the piston 14 is at its top dead center position. A method of manufacturing the cylinder is also provided.
