A coating material (20) comprising a mixture of a thermosetting resin, polytetrafluoroethylene, a member of the polyolefin group consisting of polyethylene, a copolymer of polyethylene and polypropylene, and a combination of polyethylene and a copolymer of polyethylene and polypropylene, in a solvent, wherein said solvent being volatile and having the property of dissolving said resin, is produced and applied to a metal substrate (12).
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite layer slide member capable of exhibiting abrasion resistance and load resistance in a superior manner than those of a composite layer slide member containing lead or a lead alloy, and a rack guide in the rack-and-pinion steering device of an automobile which uses the composite layer slide member. SOLUTION: The composite layer slide member 51 includes a back metal 52, comprising a steel plate, the porous metal sintered layer 53 integrally formed on the surface of the back metal 52 and a slide layer 54, comprising a synthetic resin composition, filling the pore gaps of the porous metal sintered layer 53 that covers the surface of the porous metal sintered layer. The synthetic resin composition is composed of 5-30 wt.% barium sulfate, 1-15 wt.% magnesium silicate, 1-25 wt.% phosphate, 0.5-3 wt.% titanium oxide and the remainder of a tetrafluoroethylene resin. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antifriction lacquer and bearing with improved antifrictional properties. SOLUTION: The antifriction lacquer for the formation of a coating on a surface that is exposed to friction stress comprises at least 1 type of polymer for the formation of a polymer matrix for a coating or at least 1 type of precursor of the polymer for the formation of the polymer matrix by setting, at least 1 type of solid lubricant, at least 1 type of additive as desired for enhancing solid nature, and at least one type of solvent, wherein the molecular structure of the polymer or the at least one type of precursor has the main chain of a repeated monomer unit or the precursor is such a monomer unit that forms a part of the main chain, and at least the main chain or main chain part of the molecular structure has a complete conjugated bond system. Disclosed herein are a lubricating composition comprising 5 to 65% by weight of a solid lubricant powder material, 5 to 20% by weight of a lubricating oil which is in a liquid or paste form at an ordinary temperature, 1 to 8% by weight of a carrier for absorbing and possessing said lubricating oil, 10 to 30% by weight of a thermoplastic resin, and 25 to 50% by weight of a thermosetting synthetic resin, and a sliding member comprising a metal substrate and a solid lubricant composed of the lubricating composition.
