PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor controller capable of more certainly detecting an abnormality which occurs to a transistor of an inverter circuit.SOLUTION: A motor controller 15 supplies a three-phase alternating current to a motor 11 by controlling switching of the pair of transistors T1-T6 which are provided in an inverter circuit 20. Moreover, the motor controller 15 detects respective phase current values supplied to the motor 11 through current sensors 30u, 30v, 30w, and stops driving the inverter circuit 20 when it is determined that penetration current has occurred to the transistors T1-T6 on the basis of the detected respective phase current values. A first threshold value is set to respective phase current values, and a second threshold value is set to a total of the respective phase current values. When at least one of absolute values of the respective phase current values is the first threshold value or higher and the absolute value of the total of the respective phase current values is the second threshold value or higher, it is determined that the penetration current has occurred to the transistors T1-T6.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverter which has an accurate electron thermal energy time limit characteristic considering actual temperature rise and fall in an electric motor under overload and under normal load, and to provide an overload protection method. SOLUTION: The inverter includes: a rectifier which converts AC into DC; a power inverter which converts DC into AC power of variable voltage and variable frequency, an AC motor of which speed is controlled by the AC power; a current detector which detects a current of the AC motor; and a controller which controls each portion according to a current detected by the current detector. The controller has an adder/subtracter which electronically adds when the AC motor is operating in overload and subtracts a weighting commensurate with the squared time product of the detected current by the current detector during the overload from the cumulative value obtained by addition during overload when the AC motor is not operating in overload, and an electron thermal energy time limit unit which stops the AC motor in the event of an overload operation, based on the integrated value in the adder/subtracter and the preset electron thermal energy time limit characteristics. Abstract:
To prevent damage of a power converter that drives a permanent-magnet synchronous motor provided in an electric vehicle or the permanent-magnet synchronous motor from becoming worse. An opening/closing unit MMK is connected between an inverter INV and an AC motor 6 that is a permanent-magnet synchronous motor. Moreover, a voltage detector 5 is provided between the opening/closing unit MMK and the AC motor 6. When a difference between effective values of phase voltages of the AC motor detected by the voltage detector 5 exceeds a predetermined value, a controller 10 that controls the inverter INV produces and outputs various control signals including a control signal for decelerating the electric vehicle, a control signal for turning power running of the electric vehicle OFF, and a control signal for applying a brake to the electric vehicle.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor control device that avoids several problems resulting from abnormal conditions of an overcurrent detection means by diagnosis of the abnormal conditions. SOLUTION: The motor control device includes an overcurrent inspection unit 19 for sending out a first inspection voltage Vt1 which is lower than a reference voltage Vref for overcurrent determination when a synchronous motor 11 is not rotated and for sending out a second inspection voltage Vt2 which is or equal to or higher than the reference voltage Vref to an overcurrent detection unit 18. The motor control device determines that the abnormal conditions have occurred in the overcurrent detection unit 18 when it is determined that there is an overcurrent in the first inspection voltage Vt1 sent out from the overcurrent inspection unit 19 from the comparison result of the overcurrent detection unit 18, or when it is determined that there is no overcurrent in the second inspection voltage Vt2 sent out from the overcurrent inspection unit 19 from the comparison result of the overcurrent detection unit 18. Abstract:
A device for driving a load such as an electric motor for driving a fan mounted on an automobile includes a semiconductor power FET for supplying a load current to the load, a voltage detector for detecting a load voltage, a current detector for detecting a load current and a control circuit for controlling an amount of the load current. The load current is limited to a first limiting level when the detected load current exceeds a predetermined current level, and to a second limiting level, which is lower than the first limiting level, when the load current exceeds the predetermined current level and the load voltage becomes lower than a predetermined voltage level. By limiting the amount of load current, the power FET is surely prevented from being damaged by over-current even if a circuit including the load is short-circuited.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor controller which can detect a fault of all phases of a motor, with only one current sensor, and to provide an electric power steering system equipped with the same. SOLUTION: A current sensor 15 of the motor controller detects the current applied to a motor drive circuit 13 and thus a phase where a failure cannot be detected would occur without taking any measures. However, an abnormal current monitor section 34 contained in a microcomputer 20 receives a voltage signal of an average value of the currents detected in the current sensor 15 by allowing a signal to pass through a first LPF 16 having a cutoff frequency sufficiently lower than the frequency of a PWM signal. Therefore, whether or not the value falls within a predetermined normal range is checked. Accordingly, whether or not some failure containing a failure of the current sensor 15 occurs can be easily determined about every phase. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverter controller which can be protected easily at low cost, and to provide a heat pump type hot water supply apparatus equipped with the inverter controller. SOLUTION: The inverter controller (1) being supplied with power from an AC power supply (14) and performing variable control of the operating frequency (24) of a motor (22) depending on the load comprises a means for detecting the number of operational revolution (N R ) of the motor, and a controller (20) for controlling the operational frequency based on the comparison of an output duty (D) dependent on the number of operational revolution detected by the number of revolution detection means and a reference duty (D T ) dependent on the target number of revolution (N S ) of the motor. When the number of operational revolution is smaller than the target number of revolution, the controller acquires a regulation duty (D R ) dependent on the target number of revolution and performs overload reduction processing of the motor when the output duty is above the regulation duty.
