Abstract: PURPOSE:To make both dimension and shape of an air supply valve and an exhaust valve substantially the same by closing an opening between a valve seat and the peripheral part on the exhaust valve side of the air supply valve for the entire period of valve-opening of the air supply valve. CONSTITUTION:A peripheral wall 8 of a recessed groove 5a, which connects inwall parts 3b and 3c of a cylinder head, consists of a pair of mask-walls 8a, which are situated very near to the peripheral part of an air supply valve 6 and moreover extend in an arced shape along the peripheral part of the air supply valve 6, and a fresh-air guide wall 8b, which is situated around an air supply valve 6. At this time, the mask- wall 8a extends toward a combustion chamber 4 beyond the maximum outer diameter part of the air supply valve 6, which is situated at the maximum left position of the valve 6. Accordingly, an opening between a valve seat 9 and the peripheral part on an exhaust valve (7) side of the air supply valve 6, is closed by the mask-wall 8a for the entire period of valve-opening of the air supply valve 6. With this contrivance, since the value-diameter of the exhaust valve 7 can be made larger, both dimension and shape of the air supply valve 6 and the exhaust valve 7 can substantially be made the same. As a result, the maximum number of revolutions of an engine can be increased.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the inflow resistance of fresh air with inflow increased, and thereby contrive an improvement of the output power of an engine by eliminating both the periphery section of the inner wall surface of a cylinder head and the periphery section of the top section of a cylinder bore across respective whole circumferences. CONSTITUTION:A concave groove 5 is formed in the inner wall surface 3a of a cylinder head 3, and plural numbers of sections 3b and 3c are thereby formed. And the respective sections 3b and 3c are connected with each other via a periphery wall 8 of the concave groove 5. In this case, a pair of intake valves 6 and a pair of exhaust valves 7 are arranged at the both sides of the periphery wall 8 respectively. And the periphery wall 8 is formed with mask walls 8a extending circularly along the periphery section of the intake valves 6 and with a fresh air guide walls 8c formed between the circumferential wall of a combustion chamber 4 and the intake valves 6. Furthermore, the periphery section 13 of an inner wall surface 3a and the top periphery section 14 of a cylinder bore 1a are eliminated across respective whole circumferences.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain optimum engine performance, by stopping an injector in the side of setting an intake control valve even when it is opened when an engine is in predetermined operation, in case of the engine which respectively provides the intake control valve in one of the two intake ports further the injector in both the intake ports. CONSTITUTION:A two-cycle internal combustion engine provides two intake ports 20a, 20b in one cylinder. And the engine respectively provides an intake control valve 36 in one of the intake ports 20a, 20b further fuel injectors 38a, 38b in both the intake ports. Here the engine provides a switching means 4 which, in accordance with opening and closing of the intake control valve 36, switches the first and second forming means 2, 3 respectively forming a fuel injection signal to the first fuel injector 38a or the first and second fuel injectors 38a, 38b. While a gate means 6, which actuates a switching means 4 so as to operate the first fuel injection signal forming means 2 when a means 5 detects the engine to be in a specific operative condition opening the intake control valve 36, is provided.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the combustivity by specifying the valve timing of cylinder groups as well as furnishing a means to make a part of the exhaust gas reflow in to a combustion chamber while swirling around the cylinder shaft, in an engine in which suction valves and exhaust valves are arranged at a cylinder head. CONSTITUTION:When a six-cylinder engine is used, two suction valves 24 and two exhaust valves 26 are arranged at a cylinder head respectively. One of two exhaust ports 22 is formed in almost a straight line to the branch pipe 50a of an exhaust maniford 50, opened in the tangent direction at the combustion chamber 18, while the other exhaust port 22 is formed making an angle. And by making the reflowing of the exhaust gas to the combustion chamber 18 through the exhaust port 22 of the almost straight line side by the effect of inertia, a swirl S can be formed in the combustion chamber 18. Furthermore, the valve timing of the two separate cylinder groups is set to avoid the opening period of the exhaust valve 26 of one cylinder from overlapping to that of the other cylinders.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To carry out favorable combustion over all load zones of an engine by providing two intake ports in parallel, providing intake valves on both of said intake ports respectively, and providing an intake control valve on one of said ports while a fuel injection valve on the other. CONSTITUTION:Intake ports 20 and exhaust ports 22 are oppositely provided on a cylinder head 14 and intake valves 24 and exhaust valve 26 are provided to these ports respectively. Also, two intake manifolds 30, 32 are installed on the cylinder head 14, and these are connected to the intake ports 20 respectively. In this case, two intake ports 20, 20 are provided in parallel on both sides of a center line which extends from the center of a cylinder and at a right angle to the longitudinal axis of the cylinder head 14. And, a fuel injection valve 34 is provided close to this center line on the intake port 20 on the low load side. Also, an intake control valve 48 which is opened and closed in accordance with the operating condition of an engine is provided on the intake manifold 32 on the high load side.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the ignitability of fuel by providing a fuel injection valve on an one side of an inlet port and an intake control valve on the other side of said inlet port, and moreover providing a generating means for an exhaust swirl to slowly introduce fresh air on the exhaust swirl for stratifying the fresh air and the exhaust respectively. CONSTITUTION:In the light loading range of an engine, an intake control valve 16 is closed, and an exhaust control valve 34 is opened. As each of exhaust valves 31a, 31b is opened during the downward stroke of a piston, high temperature exhaust blown down into each of exhaust ports 32a, 32b is flowed backward to combustion chamber 2. At this time, an eccentric port 32b and a mask 5 generate an exhaust swirl. In addition to that, when the lifting quantity of an intake valve 21a has increased, the fresh air having passed through a throttle valve 13 and a supercharger 14 is introduced into the combustion chamber 2 from an inlet port 20a through the intake valve 21a. Therefore, the fresh air is slowly introduced on the exhaust swirl to be collected near an ignition plug 4 on the side of a cylinder head, and thereby the fresh air on said side and the exhaust on the side of the piston are stratified respectively.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the ignitability of an engine through enabling the stratifying condition of the fresh air and the exhaust air by providing a means for causing an exhaust valve to open earlier than an intake valve when the piston lowering speed is high so that the exhaust air in an exhaust port is caused to reflow into a combustion chamber, and then swirling the exhaust air at the time of its reflowing. CONSTITUTION:On each of the cylinders are provided exhaust ports 32a, 32b in positions opposite to intake ports 20a, 20b, and then, at least either one of the two exhaust ports 32a, 32b is of an eccentric port that is caused to be eccentric from the axis of the cylinder. In addition, there is provided an exhaust control valve 34 for permitting the part in an exhaust manifold 33, where branch pipes from each of the cylinders gather, to be either divided into a branch-pipe gathering part 33a for the No.1-No.3 cylinders and a branch-pipe gathering part 33b for the No.4-No.6 cylinders or combined into one. And further, on the circumference of an exhaust valve at a cylinder head 6 facing a combustion chamber 2 for each of the cylinders is provided a mask 5 which is shaped in such a manner that the exhaust air is swirled when it reflows from the exhaust ports 32a, 32b into the combustion chamber 2. And then, the exhaust control valve 34 is controlled so that it is caused to open when the engine is in the idling operating range or the light-load operating range.

In this way, the piston 2 can be prevented from turning without using any separate rotation stopping member for stopping rotation of the piston around the axial line.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately regulate the timing of a valve even during the low temperature starting of an internal combustion engine without arranging a heating means by which the increase of a cost and the increase of the size of a device are used and improve responsiveness to regulation of a valve timing. SOLUTION: A valve characteristic control device for an internal combustion engine comprises a valve timing regulating device 1 operated by a hydraulic oil pressure and varying the opening closing characteristics of an intake valve or an exhaust valve according to an engine operation state; and an oil warmer passage 10 formed in a crank shaft journal part. The oil warmer passage 10 forms a part of an oil pressure passage running from an oil pan 5 to a valve timing regulating device 1. Since hydraulic oil is heated in the oil warmer passage 10 by the slide heat of a crank shaft, by reducing viscosity of the hydraulic oil even during the low temperature starting of an internal combustion engine, the valve timing regulating device 1 is accurately operated.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make face pressure between a cylinder head and a cylinder bore uniform in the case of pulling up a lower deck by a head bolt in an open deck type cylinder block. SOLUTION: In an open deck type cylinder block where a cylinder bore 2 and a cylinder block outside wall 9 are mutually separated in its upper part, a first rib 8 to connect the lower part of a head bolt boss 11 provided on the cylinder block outside wall 9 with a lower deck 6 just under the above lower part and a second rib 5 to connect the first rib 8 with the lower deck 6 positioned at a center between the adjacent head bolt bosses 11 are provided. Consequently, since the lower deck 6 just under the head bolt boss part 11 is pulled up by the first rib 8 in the case of fastening of a head bolt, and the lower deck 6 located at a center between the head bolt bosses is pulled up by the second rib 5, the lower deck 6 is therefore uniformly pulled up, and face pressure caused as the reactive force of the above pulling up power between the cylinder head and the cylinder bore 2 becomes uniform.
