PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode active material for an alkaline storage battery, the positive electrode active material having a low environmental dependence, and capable of maintaining excellent battery characteristics as a storage battery, and to provide a production method thereof a positive electrode for an alkaline storage battery containing the positive electrode active material, and an alkaline storage battery containing the positive electrode active material in the positive electrode.SOLUTION: A positive electrode active material for an alkaline storage battery contains nickel hydroxide particles, and the nickel hydroxide particles are covered with a cobalt compound coating layer. Increment in the specific surface area of nickel hydroxide particles covered with a cobalt compound coating layer with respect to the specific surface area of nickel hydroxide particles before being covered with a cobalt compound coating layer is 3[m/g] or more.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety valve that reduces variations in valve opening pressure even when there are variations in initial deformation amount of a spring.SOLUTION: A safety valve 20 comprises: a sealing member 38; a plate spring 22 that urges the sealing member 38 toward an opening 14a; and a housing 30 that supports both ends of the plate spring 22 rotatably. When pressure acting on the sealing member 38 is equal to or smaller than a predetermined pressure, the sealing member 38 closes the opening 14a by contact with the opening 14a. When the pressure acting on the sealing member 38 exceeds the predetermined pressure, end-side plates 26 and 28 of the plate spring 22 are rotated with respect to the housing 30, and a center plate 24 of the plate spring 26 is thereby displaced in a direction away from the opening 14a. Thus, the sealing member 38 is moved away from the opening 14a so as to open the opening 14a.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem on a conventional air-conditioned room wherein leakage of a flammable gas is hardly found until a large amount of the flammable gas leaks, and it tends to be late, when the flammable gas generates in the room. SOLUTION: In this air-conditioned room 1 air-conditioned at a constant temperature by air-conditioning equipment 11 and in which the flammable gas may generate, an air supply opening 1e from the air-conditioning equipment 11 to the air-conditioned room 1 is formed at a lower portion of the air-conditioned room 1, an air suction opening 1d from the air-conditioned room 1 to the air-conditioning equipment 11 is formed at an upper portion of the air-conditioned room 1, a ceiling surface 1a of the air-conditioned room 1 is provided with a gas storage space 1b forme by projecting a part of the ceiling surface 1a to a high attitude side, and a gas detection sensor 12 is disposed in the gas storage space 1b. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise caused by a part of air leaking from drain holes formed on an exhaust duct.SOLUTION: A first drain hole 20a, which discharges a liquid accumulated in an exhaust duct to the exterior of the exhaust duct 15, is formed on a bottom surface of the exhaust duct 15 exhausting cooling air after a battery stack is cooled. A second drain hole 20b, which discharges the liquid discharged from the first drain hole 20a to the exterior of a lower case 16, is formed on a bottom surface of the lower case 16 housing the battery stack and the exhaust duct 15. The first drain hole 20a is formed on a position of the bottom surface which is located on the inner side of a curved part of the exhaust duct.
