Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joining method which is capable of easily and surely joining a ring gear and a leaf spring for axially movably and elastically supporting the ring gear and suppressing the occurrence of shaking, etc., by wear when the leaf spring is bent. SOLUTION: A hypoid gear mechanism includes the inner ring gear 11 and outer ring gear 12 concentrically arranged with the hypoid ring gears to be meshed with hypoid pinion gears respectively, and has an inner ring base 15 which supports the inner ring gear 11 and the leaf spring 13 which is joined to the inner ring base 15 and axially movably and elastically supports the inner ring gear 11. The mechanism is provided with a welding area 21 which grasps and joins the inner ring base 15 and an arm portion 13b of the leaf spring 13 by means of a rivet 20 and welds and joins both on the outer sides of their diametral directions and further the arm portion 13b of the spring member 13 is provided with a local deformation area 22.
