PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device of an internal combustion engine capable of efficiently reducing NOx in a wide temperature range up to a high temperature area from a low temperature area in the vicinity of the room temperature. SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device 2 of an engine 1 is arranged in an exhaust system of the engine 1, for reducing the NOx in exhaust gas of the engine 1, and includes an NOx reducing catalyst 3 carried by a carrier, arranged in an exhaust pipe 5 of the engine 1, capturing the NOx in the exhaust gas and reducing the captured NOx with MH 3 as a reducing agent, and an NH 3 supply part 4 supplying the NH 3 to the upstream side of the NOx reducing catalyst 3. The NOx reducing catalyst 3 has a first catalyst layer for capturing the NOx when the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas is lean, and a second catalyst layer for holding the NH 3 supplied by the NH 3 supply part 4 and reducing the NOx with the NH 3 as the reducing agent. SOLUTION: A DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) 5 includes: a plurality of porous walls 51 through which exhaust passes; and a plurality of upstream side cells 52 and downstream side cells 53 which are divided and formed by the porous walls 51 and serve as flow paths of the exhaust. An average wall thickness of the porous walls 51 is less than 250 μm and a difference of thermal shock temperature is 500°C or more.
