Abstract:
Without using any pumps and controlling devices, to control microorganism's activity by supplying an activity controlling substance which is necessitated for the microorganism activity is realized. A microbial activity controlling material 3 is filled into a vessel 4 having a sealed structure and at least a part of which is provided with a non-porous film 2, and then, the microbial activity controlling material 3 is supplied through the non-porous film 2 part of the vessel 4 to ambient places around the vessel 4 at the speed controlled by the molecular permeation performance of the non-porous film 2, and thereby the activities of microorganisms residing around the vessel is controlled. The microbial activity controlling material 3 is at least one of materials which function as electron donor being of an energy source of microorganism, acidic materials, basic materials, inorganic salts, oxygen releasing materials and oxygen absorbing materials, except combinations of acidic materials and basic materials and combinations of oxygen releasing materials and oxygen absorbing materials.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dechlorinating microorganism which can perform dechlorination of chloroethenes by singly and efficiently dechlorinating chloroethenes by degrading them from upstream to downstream and finally to ethenes, and a method for purifying contaminated matter such as contaminated soil by finding a group of microorganisms containing the dechlorinating microorganism, and using them.SOLUTION: Genus Dehalococcoides bacteria possessing TceA as a trichloroethene-degrading enzyme gene and BvcA and VcrA as vinyl chloride-degrading enzyme genes and having the ability to degrade trichloroethenes to ethenes, and a purification method comprising providing a group of microorganisms containing the bacteria, causing the bacteria or the group of microorganisms to work on contaminated matter containing chloroethenes, to dechlorinate the chloroethenes, are provided.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soil cleaning method which is improved in efficiency by increasing and maintaining the number of soil microbes.SOLUTION: In the soil cleaning method, the weight ratio of carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus in the soil is adjusted in the range of 100:[5-24]:[0.1-14]. When the content of the carbon in the soil before adjustment is less than 15,000 mg/kg, manure is added to the soil as a carbon source.

The invention relates to bacteria, bacterial extracts, supernatants obtained from the culturing of said bacteria, polypeptides and compositions for degrading benzimidazole carbamate fungicides, carbanilate fungicides, sulfonamide herbicides, thioamide herbicides and/or synthetic pyrethroid insecticides. In particular, the invention relates to the identification of Nocardioides sp. which degrades benzimidazole carbamate fungicides, carbanilate fungicides, sulfonamide herbicides, thioamide herbicides and/or synthetic pyrethroid insecticides.
