PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of cutting the tip of roll paper by an optional length when the roll paper is mounted to the image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus that prints continuous paper rolled in a roll state includes: a feeding means for feeding the continuous paper pulled out of a roll part of the loaded continuous paper; a cutting means for cutting the continuous paper fed by the feeding means; and an operating means for operating the feeding means and the cutting means to work. The operating means is capable of operating the feeding means and the cutting means so that cutting is performed after conveying the continuous paper by the optional conveyed amount prior to carrying out first printing to the continuous paper.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer that can know and react to variations in roll motions.SOLUTION: A web printing press includes: at least one printing unit printing images on a web; at least one press component in direct contact with the web; a cutting device for cutting the web into sheets; a controller transmitting a virtual master signal to the at least one printing unit and at least one press component; a sensor sensing at least one press component or directly senses the web downstream of the at least one print unit and generates a sensor signal; and a processor receiving the sensor signal and the virtual master signal, the processor transmits a modified virtual master signal to the cutting device as a function of the received sensor signal.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording apparatus which can work perforations to a recording medium without forming marks to the recording medium beforehand, and to provide a controlling method thereof. SOLUTION: Image recording is carried out to the recording medium 2 on the basis of job information from a host device 23. A perforation control part 10d calculates a movement amount nearly parallel to a transfer direction of the recording medium on the basis of a reference position of the recording medium 2 passed through image recording, and indicates a perforation insertion part 40 to perform sewing machine blade working based on the movement amount. The perforation insertion part 40 forms perforations to an indicated position. The reference position is a side end of the medium detected by a medium end detecting part 50 in an end subordinate mode, and is a reference position of a record image in an image center subordinate mode.
