PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the reliability of a code for marking, and to accurately decide the validity/invalidity of marking content. SOLUTION: A manufacture unique information management server 2 is provided with a database allowing extraction of a group of information(manufacture unique information) relating to a product for every product to be manufactured. Terminal equipment 40 for print processing receives the transmission of the manufacture unique information about a product to be printed, and generates two types of codes whose content is different from the information. Those codes are set in such a relation uniquely corresponding to individual information included in each code. The terminal equipment 40 for print processing generates a two-dimensional code from one code, and generates identification codes configured of a character string by encrypting the other code, and makes a printer 41 perform printing. Disclosed is a protected document such as a negotiable instrument, a title instrument, indentification document or other documents which should be kept secure from illegal copying by color copiers. The method of making the document comprising preprinting a "VOID" or other warning or cancellation phrase pattern in half tone or multitone on the document and camouflaging this pattern is also disclosed.

This invention provides an anti-counterfeit printed matter which forms an invisible image that can be visualized clearly and also prevents a visible image from impeding visibility of a visualized invisible image. In the anti-counterfeit printed matter according to this invention, a plurality of object elements are arranged at a predetermined pitch in a matrix, each object element including a first object and a second object which are arranged along a first direction on both sides of a boundary at a center so as to oppose each other, and a third object and a fourth object which are arranged along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction on both sides of a boundary at the center so as to oppose each other. The first object and the second object, and the third object and the fourth object of each object element have a negative/positive relationship. The first object and/or the second object forms a first invisible image. The third object and/or the fourth object forms a second invisible image.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide anisotropic magnetic flakes for use in a coating or an ink. SOLUTION: The anisotropic, reflective and magnetic flakes are provided. In a liquid carrier and under an influence of an external magnetic field, the flakes attract to one another side-by-side and form ribbons which provide higher reflectivity to the coating and may be utilized as a security feature for authentication of an object.
