Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide a filler capable of exhibiting semitransparent foggy effects as in fogged glasses. The present invention provides a filler comprising: a transparent or semitransparent thin platelet-like substrate; a particle layer or coating layer (hereinafter, referred to as a first layer) which is formed on the surface of the thin platelet-like substrate and composed of a hydrous oxide, carbonate, or calcined product thereof, of at least one metal (hereinafter, referred to as a first metal) selected from the group consisting of Mg, Al, and Ca; a coating layer (hereinafter, referred to as a second layer) which coats the thin platelet-like substrate comprising the first layer formed thereon and is composed of an Si hydrous oxide or calcined product thereof; and a coating layer (hereinafter, referred to as a third layer) which coats the second layer and is composed of a Ti hydrous oxide or calcined product thereof.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition which can eliminate or suppress the deterioration of a coating caused by the action of a photocatalyst when forming the coating, can reduce a haze value, is excellent in the dispersibility and dispersion stability of a coating liquid, excellent in storage performance, and also excellent in coating suitability.SOLUTION: The coating composition is characterized by containing at least the following items (1) to (4). (1) A titanium dioxide fine particle in which photocatalyst activity obtained by applying surface treatment to the titanium dioxide fine particle to which cobalt having a property for capturing a free electron and/or a positive hole is doped by using a zinc chelate compound having a property for capturing a free electron and/or a positive hole is eliminated or suppressed, (2) a binder component, (3) a dispersant and (4) an organic solvent.

A coating composition forms a coating film having an eliminated or reduced photocatalytic action-derived deterioration, and forms a coating film having a lowered haze value, excellent dispersibility and dispersion stability in a coating liquid form, excellent storage stability, and also excellent coatability. The coating composition includes at least the following four components: titanium dioxide fine particles with eliminated or reduced photocatalytic activity which is obtained by surface treating titanium dioxide fine particles doped with cobalt capable of capturing free electrons and/or holes, with a zinc chelate compound capable of capturing free electrons and/or holes; a binder component; a dispersant; and an organic solvent.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition capable of eliminating or reducing the deterioration of a coated film caused by photocatalytic action when the coated film is formed, capable of reducing a haze value, having excellent dispersibility and dispersion stability of a coating liquid, and also having excellent coatability; to provide the coated film obtained by coating the coating composition on the surface of an article to be coated; to provide a laminated antireflection film including the coated film; and to provide an image-displaying device having a coated display surface. SOLUTION: The coating composition contains at least the following components (1) to (4): (1) titanium oxide fine particles obtained by subjecting titanium oxide fine particles to which cobalt having properties for trapping free electrons and/or positive holes is doped to surface treatment with a zinc chelating compound having the properties for trapping the free electrons and/or the positive holes, and having eliminated or reduced photocatalytic activities; (2) a binder component; (3) a dispersing agent; and (4) an organic solvent.
