Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a useful composite based upon a cationic initiater, a cationically polymerizable resin and a radiopacifying filler.SOLUTION: A polymerizable compositions includes: (a) a cationically active functional group; (b) an initiation system capable of initiating cationic polymerization of the cationically active functional group; and (c) a filler composition including a radiopacifying filler in an amount sufficient to render the polymerizable composition radiopaque, wherein the radiopacifying filler is selected from the group consisting of metal oxides, metal halides, metal borates, metal phophates, metal silicates, metal carbonates, metal germanates, metal tetrafluuoroborates, metal hexafluoroborates, metal hexafluorophsphates and combinations thereof. The components (a), (b), and (c) are selected such that the polymerizable composition polymerizes to form a polymerized composition having a Barcol hardness, measured using a GYZJ-935 meter, of at least 10 within 30 minutes following initiation of the cationically active functional group at a reaction temperature of 25°C.
Abstract:
A composition for coating a metal substrate with a white to off-white or gray colored autodeposited coating comprising water, polymeric resin, HF and pigment particles comprising a core of titanium dioxide, an intermediate zirconia and/or alumina layer, and an outer organic layer, optionally the particles are treated with an anionic surfactant.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide deformed silica composite particles which suppress deterioration of the dispersibility into a target to be attached and the maintenance of fluidity of a target to be attached even if the temperature and humidity environment fluctuates.SOLUTION: The silica composite particles include silicon oxide and titanium in an amount of from 0.001 mass% to 10 mass%, wherein the silica composite particles have an average particle diameter of from 30 nm to 500 nm, a particle size distribution index of from 1.1 to 1.5, and an average degree of circularity of from 0.5 to 0.85.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing satisfactory porous-silica containing particles.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing satisfactory porous silica-containing particles includes: a process (a) of preparing porous silica; a process (b) of bringing the porous silica into contact with liquid containing a metal or a compound having the metal as an elemental composition, and impregnating the holes of the porous silica with the liquid; and a process (c) of carrying out heat treatment after the process (b), and forming fine particles having the metal or the metal compound in the holes of the porous silica. Also, the porous silica is synthesized by hydrolyzing alkoxysilane with a nonsolvent system so that it is possible to synthesize the porous silica having fine pore diameters. The porous silica is used as a template so that it is possible to easily form even particles (for example, W, Cu, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co or Ni or their metal oxides) showing unprecedented specific quality in the state of bulk.
