A communication apparatus determines whether a file selected by a file selection unit is of a format analyzable by the communication apparatus. If it is determined that the file selected by the file selection unit is not of the format analyzable by the communication apparatus, the communication apparatus restricts selection of a predetermined protocol included in a plurality of protocols. The communication apparatus further determines whether the protocol selected by a protocol selection unit is a predetermined protocol. If it is determined that the protocol selected by the protocol selection unit is the predetermined protocol, the communication apparatus restricts selection of a file of a format not analyzable by the communication apparatus.
Abstract:
The imaging system converts raw data for an image to formatted data concurrently with compressing the formatted data for the image. The exemplary imaging system includes an image processor for generating blocks of formatted data from raw image data. The exemplary imaging system also includes an image compressor for compressing the blocks of formatted data. The compressor compresses one or more of the blocks while the image processor generates one or more blocks of formatted data.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus that facilitates an operation for generating a file corresponding to an image.SOLUTION: In an image processing apparatus 100, a document is scanned to generate scan data 900. Then, in the image processing apparatus 100, with respect to the scan data 900, a feature of an image specified by the data is analyzed, and a format (file format) into which the scan data 900 is to be converted is selected based on the analysis result. Meanwhile, the analysis target may be an image file received by the image processing apparatus 100 from another apparatus.

Provided is an image processing apparatus that improves the accuracy in ACS determination without needing a mechanism to detect an original document size, a user input of an original document size, or pre-scanning of an original document, and a control method therefor. To accomplish this, the image processing apparatus specifies, when reading an original document, the size of the original document, based on the timings at which the leading edge and the trailing edge of the original document that is conveyed were detected. Furthermore, the image processing apparatus determines whether image data read from the original document is a color image or a monochrome image, for each size of a plurality of standard-size printing medium, and selects, from among the determination results, a determination result obtained by performing determination using the standard-size printing medium size that is similar to the specified size of the original document.

An image processing apparatus receives notification information from an information processing apparatus. The notification information includes specifying information used to specify a reading setting employed when an original is read and identification information. The image processing apparatus obtains identification information input by a user. Then, in a case where the received notification information includes identification information corresponding to the obtained identification information, an information processing apparatus which transmitted the notification information is registered as a display object. Thereafter, the original is read on the basis of the reading setting specified by the image processing apparatus in accordance with the specifying information included in the notification information transmitted from the information processing apparatus selected from among displayed information processing apparatuses.
