    SOLUTION: A method for producing a monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon-styrene compound adduct is provided, comprising the step(1) of carrying out a reaction between a monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon and a styrene compound in a liquid phase in the presence of a solid catalyst in a fixed bed circulation-type reactor, the step(2) of circulating part of the resultant reaction product, the step(3) of obtaining respectively a bicyclic aromatic hydrocarbon and a tricyclic aromatic hydrocarbon as monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon-styrene compound adducts and the step(4) of circulating part of the resultant bicyclic aromatic hydrocarbon to the reactor, thus adding the styrene compound to the monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon having at least one hydrogen atom directly bound to an aromatic ring hydrocarbon atom.
