PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of compatibility between a friction modifier and an overbased detergent such as overbased calcium sulfonate, and compatibility between different overbased detergents such as between an overbased sulfonate detergent and an overbased salicylate detergent. SOLUTION: The method of improving the compatibility of the overbased detergent with other additives in a lubricating oil composition is provided. The method includes the step of adding an oil-soluble, hydrocarbyl sulfonic acid to the detergent, with the proviso that if the overbased detergent is an overbased phenate detergent, the further additive is not an overbased sulphonate detergent. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an oil impregnated sintered bearing oil composition having high rust prevention ability especially toward an iron oil impregnated sintered bearing, excellent friction characteristic and oxidation stability and good longevity, and an oil impregnated sintered bearing unit. SOLUTION: The oil impregnated sintered bearing oil composition comprises a hydrocarbon lubricant base oil, 0.1-2.9 mass % of a specified sorbitan compound based on the total amount of the composition as a rust inhibitor, and if necessary, further at least one additive selected from an antioxidant, a friction regulating agent, a detergent dispersant, a metal deactivator, an antifoaming agent, a viscosity index improver and a thickener. SOLUTION: The friction control composition comprises (a) about 40 wt.% to about 95 wt.% of water, (b) about 0.5 wt.% to about 50 wt.% of a rheological agent, (c) about 0.5 wt.% to about 2 wt.% of an antioxidant, (d) about 0.5 wt.% to about 40 wt.% of a retentivity agent, (e) about 0 wt.% to about 40 wt.% of a lubricant, and (f) about 0 wt.% to about 25 wt.% of a friction modifier. Wherein, if the lubricant is at about 0 wt.%, then the composition contains at least about 0.5 wt.% of the friction modifier, and wherein if the friction modifier is at about 0 wt.%, then the composition contains at least about 1 wt.% of the lubricant.
