PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that it is necessary to suppress the radical polymerization of monomers that is a competitive reaction when a graft chain suitable as an adsorption film is formed to a porous film.SOLUTION: The method which introduces a graft chain to a porous substrate including a polymer, includes: an immersion step in which the porous substrate is immersed in a solution including a radically polymerizable monomer; and an irradiation grafting step in which the porous substrate is irradiated in an immersed state, the radically polymerizable monomer is performed with graft polymerization to the porous substrate, and the graft chain is formed to the porous substrate, wherein the solution including the radically polymerizable monomer includes a solvent containing 40-70 vol% of a primary or secondary univalent lower alcohol.

PURPOSE:To obtain a phenolic resin fiber having excellent heat resistance and heat insulation by graft-polymerizing a monomer containing vinyl group to a phenolic resin fiber and heattreating the product at a high temperature. CONSTITUTION:A monomer containing vinyl group (preferable example: methyl methacrylate monomer) is graft-polymerized to a phenolic resin fiber or a phenolic resin fiber structure at a grafting ratio of 5 to 100% and the grafted phenolic resin fiber is heat-treated at 150 to 300 deg.C to obtain a porous phenolic resin fiber having fine pores of

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber material exhibiting a high removing effect for aging odor, particularly a high removing effect for unsaturated aldehydes such as nonenal and octenal, and maintaining the effect, and to provide a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: There is provided a fiber assembly for countermeasure for aging odor. The fiber assembly comprises a fiber composed of a polymeric base material into which a side chain having an amino group as well as a linear alkyl group or an alkanol group having 4 to 20 carbon atoms is introduced . Since the side chain is covalently bonded to the base material by the radiation graft polymerization method, the side chain do not fall out. In addition, the functional group introduced into the side chain is designed for effectively adsorbing an unsaturated aldehyde or an organic acid odor which are representative components of the aging odor, thereby maintaining the initial effect for a long period of time.

PURPOSE: To provide method for modifying or coating the inside or surface of the lumen of at least one elongated non-conductive hollow base material, having an inner diameter of not more than 2 mm, and the hollow base material produced by the method. CONSTITUTION: The production of composite fluid separation membranes is as follows: at least one non-conductive hollow fiber 1 is arranged in a single chamber reactor 10, which is almost tube-like in its axial direction, seeds respective in gas 2 are introduced into the inside of at least one hollow fiber at a velocity of about 0.1-50.0 sccm and under a pressure of about 200-5000 milli-Torr, plasma is generated and maintained by exposing the reactive seeds to a high-frequency discharge of 10-500 watt in the inside of at least one hollow fiber, and by these procedure the surface of the lumen of at least one hollow fiber is modified or coated with the reactive seeds.
