The end block includes a plurality of first connectors and the power cord includes a plurality of second connectors which correspond to the first connectors and detachably connected thereto. The first connectors and second connectors are electrically conductive. One or more first connectors are connected to the second connectors by press-fitting and are retained therewith by friction. Alternatively, the first connectors may be a terminal screw assembly and the second connectors are wires of the power cord.

摘要： A rotary electric switch having push-in wire terminals includes a hollow plastic housing having a recessed base and a cover, the base having a plurality of wire receiving openings. A plurality of resilient stationary contacts are positioned in the base, each resilient stationary contact being generally Z-shaped and having a locking tongue at one end, an intermediate arm, and a spring finger at the opposite end from the locking tongue. Each resilient stationary contact is positioned in the base with its locking tongue overlying a wire receiving opening in a side wall in the housing. A rotatable contactor is mounted in the base between the spring fingers of the resilient stationary contacts. A plurality of conductive plates are disposed in the base, one conductive plate associated with each resilient stationary contact, each conductive contacting the resilient stationary contact at a location its intermediate arm and in addition preventing a wire inserted into the opening from touching the sidewall of the housing. The housing includes a number of projections and standoffs to provide adequate spacing between current carrying components on the switch.

摘要： A miniature rotary electric switch having push-in wire terminals comprises a housing which is about 1 inch in length, 1 inch in width and 0.2 inches in thickness and which includes a plurality of wire receiving openings. A plurality of Z-shaped stationary contacts are positioned inside the housing and a rotatable contactor is disposed inside the housing for selectively contacting the stationary contacts. Each stationary contact is positioned to overlie at least a portion of one of the wire receiving openings for locking engagement with a wire to be inserted therethrough. Each stationary contact includes a locking tongue, a spring finger and an intermediate arm, the intermediate arm linking the locking tongue to the spring finger. The locking tongue is connected to the intermediate arm at a first bend and the intermediate arm is connected to the spring finger at a second bend. The housing of the switch is configured to include a plurality of pairs of corners and a plurality of posts, one post being adjacent but spaced away from each corner. Each stationary contact is disposed in the housing with its first bend wedged in one corner in a pair of corners and extending around the post adjacent that corner and its second bend wedged in the other corner in the pair of corners and extending around its post adjacent that corner. Each stationary contact further includes a third bend in the intermediate arm, the third bend having an angle of about 130 degrees to about 140 degrees. The spring finger of each stationary contact comprises a straight member and a bent tip, the straight member and the bent tip forming a bend angle at the junction thereof of about 80 degrees.

摘要： An electrical plug for connecting an electrical cable such as an electrical heating cable to an electrical power outlet. Contained within the housing of the plug are first and second contact members which comprise a first prong and a second prong, respectively, each prong being suitable for insertion into a socket of an electrical power outlet. A cutting module and a cutting element which fits within the cutting module are used to remove polymer, e.g. insulation or a conductive polymer composition, from the first and second electrodes of the cable at the end of the cable in order to make electrical connection from the electrodes to the first and second contact members. Present within the cutting module are first and second electrode-contact sections positioned on the concave arcuate inner surface of the wall of a cavity in the cutting module. The electrode-contact sections can be electrically connected to the first and second contact members. The cutting element comprises a cutting wedge which has (a) a convex arcuate outer surface which complements the inner surface of the wall of the cutting module, and (b) piercing means suitable for penetrating the polymer. The cutting element rotates within the cavity of the cutting module from an opened position to a closed position so that, after the cable has been inserted into the cavity and the cutting element is rotated, the rotation first causes the piercing means to penetrate the polymer between the first and second electrodes, then causes an end portion of the polymer to separate from the electrodes, and then forces the first electrode into physical contact with the first electrode-contact section and the second electrode into physical contact with the second electrode-contact section. The cutting module and the cutting element can also be used as a tool for removing polymer from an electrical cable, and in a connector to make electrical connection from a first electrical cable to a second electrical cable.

The housing includes a base and a cover mounted onto the base. The cover includes a top surface, a bottom surface and a plurality of inwardly tapered guide walls. Each guide wall is shaped to define a slot into which an associated conductive wire can be securely retained in electrical isolation from the remainder of conductive wires. Each guide wall has a funnel-type configuration and includes a closed end and an open end, the slot being narrower at the closed end than at the open end.

The cover member is constructed to include a hook fastener, a latch fastener, a first pair of clip fingers and a second pair of clip fingers. The hook fastener and latch fastener serve to enable the electric switch to be easily and quickly mounted on a wall in a device with which the electric switch is to be used while the first and second pair of clip fingers serve to hold the hook and latch fasteners tightly in place on the wall of the device when so mounted.

摘要： An electrical slide switch includes a housing, first, second and third spaced, substantially aligned fixed contacts in the housing, a movable contact in the housing and a slide member which is operative for moving the movable contact between a first position wherein it is in engagement with the first and second fixed contacts and a second position wherein it is in engagement with the second and third fixed contacts. The movable contact is made from a resilient sheet metal, and it includes an elongated contacting portion having a central bump thereon and a pair of resileient biasing portions which are operative for biasing the contacting portion toward the fixed contacts. The biasing portions include inwardly extending portion which extend integrally inwardly from the ends of the contacting portion to spaced bends and outwardly extending portions which extend outwardly from the bends. The bump on the contacting portion engages the second fixed contact to cause the contacting portion to pivot as it is moved between the first and second positions thereof to provide a positive "break-before-make" operation in the switch. The switch further includes detents which provide a crisp, positive snap-action in the operation of the slide member and alternatively position the slide member in the first or second positions thereof.
