摘要: Pen injection devices (10) and methods of using a pen injection device are disclosed. Pen injection devices include a sterile dual transfer spike assembly (150) including a dual transfer spike defining a fluidic pathway; a first cartridge assembly (12) including a first cartridge (20) containing a first substance; a second cartridge assembly (14) including a second cartridge (30) containing a second substance; a plunger rod (50) translatable in a first direction; and a biasing mechanism (60) configured to bias the plunger rod in a second direction opposite the first direction. Methods of using a pen injection device having a first container, a second container, a plunger rod, and a biasing mechanism include activating the pen injection device, thereby creating a fluidic pathway between the first container and the second container; and translating the plunger rod at least once, thereby transferring a first substance from one container to the other container to mix with a second substance.

摘要: A precision syringe (10) can comprise an annular fluid pathway (16) and annular plunger (12) sealing received within the annular fluid pathway. Various precision pumps (50, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000, 1100, 1200, 1300, 1400, 1500, 1600, 1700) are configured for discrete displacement of precise volumes of fluid. The precision pumps can operate by reciprocating movement to expand and contract a cavity (204, 304, 404, 504, 604, 704, 804, 904, 1040, 1104, 1204, 1304, 1404, 1504, 1604, 1704). Fluid can be introduced by movement along an axis or rotation about an axis of one or members forming, in whole or in part, the cavity. Associated methods are also disclosed.

摘要: A medical delivery device comprising an elongate body having a plunger slidably and sealingly engaged to form a cavity to receive fluid materials and a first outlet disposed at an end of said body and has a male luer end portion and a valve assembly is disposed within the first outlet. The valve assembly has a valve means movable between an open position and a closed position and biasing means for biasing the valve means to a closed position. Actuating means are disposed within the male luer end portion and coupled to the valve means such that the valve means is movable to an open position when a female luer end portion of a medical accessory is coupled with the male luer end portion. A second outlet is disposed at the same end as the first outlet for controlling the exchange of gases from the environment to said cavity under the action of the plunger. Lastly, a third outlet is disposed at the same end as the first outlet for controlling the exchange of gases from the cavity to the environment under the action of the plunger.

Such device has improved controlled for positioning an end of the device at a selected position within the body. The articulating device has a generally constant moment of inertia and a polar moment of inertia that generally decreases from its proximal to distal end.

摘要: An ultrasound transducer comprises a sheath body constructed from a nonconductive material. The sheath body is configured to be installed over a medical device. A piezoelectric copolymer transducer is held snugly against the medical device by the sheath body when the ultrasound transducer is installed over the medical device. The piezoelectric copolymer transducer transduces incident ultrasound signals into corresponding electric signals. A ground conductor is coupled to a first surface of the piezoelectric copolymer transducer. A signal conductor is coupled to a second surface of the piezoelectric copolymer transducer and conducts the corresponding electric signals to a proximal end of the medical device.

摘要: Systems, methods, and apparatuses are disclosed for transplanting hair. In some example embodiments, an apparatus for transplanting hair may include a handle, a needle extending from the handle and including a beveled distal end for creating an implant site in skin. The implant site may be configured to receive a follicular unit having at least one hair follicle. The apparatus may further include a shuttle tube that extends from the handle along a first lumen of the needle. The shuttle tube may be configured to capture the follicular unit for implanting in the implant site. The apparatus may further include a stabilizer that extends from the handle along a second lumen of the shuttle tube. The stabilizer may stabilize the follicular unit in the implant site.
