Abstract: One embodiment includes a catheter apparatus, including an elongated deflectable element including a distal end, a coupler connected to the distal end, a pusher including a distal portion, and configured to be advanced and retracted through the deflectable element, a nose connector connected to the distal portion, and including a distal receptacle having an inner surface and a distal facing opening, and an expandable assembly including flexible polymer circuit strips, each strip including electrodes disposed thereon, the strips being disposed circumferentially around the distal portion of the pusher, with first ends of the strips being connected to the coupler and second ends of the strips including respective hinges entering the distal facing opening and connected to the inner surface of the distal receptacle, the strips being configured to bow radially outward when the pusher is retracted expanding the expandable assembly from a collapsed form to an expanded form.

Abstract: In some examples, a kit includes a pulse oximetry sensor patch and a stretchable pressure backing configured to be applied to a region of a patient's skin. An assembly may include the stretchable pressure backing securing the pulse oximetry sensor patch against the patient's skin. The stretchable pressure backing is configured to stretch across the pulse oximetry sensor patch from an unstretched length to a stretched length. When in its stretched length, the stretchable pressure backing is configured to press the pulse oximetry sensor patch against the patient's skin to apply pressure to reduce venous pulsations in the region of the patient's skin. An example technique includes applying the pulse oximetry sensor patch to the patient's skin and stretching the stretchable pressure backing across the pulse oximetry sensor patch to its stretched length to apply pressure to the pulse oximetry sensor patch to reduce venous pulsations.

Abstract: The present invention presents a method of fabrication for a physiological sensor with electronic, electrochemical, and chemical components. The fabrication method comprises steps for manufacturing an apparatus comprising at least one electrochemical sensor, a microcontroller, and a transceiver. The fabrication process includes the steps of substrate fabrication, circuit fabrication, pick and place, reflow soldering, electrode fabrication, membrane fabrication, sealing and curing, layer bonding, and dressing. Abstract: The present disclosure provides a wireless sensor, a manufacturing method thereof and a wound flatness detection system. The wireless sensor includes a sensing element, two elastomer-made encapsulation layers and a breathable fiber-made encapsulation layer; wherein the sensing element is manufactured by the following steps: step 1: preparing a thin film using a carbon-based polymer solution; step 2: using a low-energy laser to induce molecular reconstruction of carbon-based groups on surfaces of the thin film to form a resistance-sensitive layer; step 3: using a high-energy laser to modify, carbonize and cut the resistance-sensitive layer to form a patterned sensing element. The present disclosure solves the problems that existing pressure or tension sensors are extremely susceptible to static interference from the external environment and the human body, and the mechanical mismatch between the sensing layer and the substrate, as well as the impermeability problem.

Abstract: A balloon of a balloon catheter must be able to withstand fatigue to its componentry caused by multiple cycles of repeat motions, such as deployment from a lumen of the catheter, expanding the balloon, collapsing the balloon, and withdrawal of the balloon into the lumen. The catheter balloon may include plurality of electrode substrates, each including a plurality of tails. A reinforcement component, which may be a portion of another balloon, may be disposed over at least some of the plurality of tails and attached to the membrane. Where tails are provided on the proximal and distal ends of the balloon, two reinforcement mechanisms may be used.
