Abstract:
The present invention relates to polygalactomannan compositions, and more particularly cationic guar gum compositions, which, when crosslinked with glyoxal, from discrete guar particles which are capable of being easily dispersed in water which permits subsequent processing of the guar, such as washing. The guar and its derivatives are desirable for use in applications such as personal care, household care products and the like.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to polygalactomannan compositions, and more particularly guar gum compositions, which, when crosslinked with organic chelating agents, such as non-borate metal salt or chelates, to form discrete guar particles which are capable of being easily dispersed in water which permits subsequent processing of the guar, such as washing. The guar and its derivatives are desirable for use in applications such as personal care and household care products.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method of strengthening hair fibers using a hair composition comprising an amide and/or an alkyl ammonium carboxylate salt. The amide can be a monoamide and/or a bisamide. A method of protecting dyed hair color from fading or wash-out using the hair composition is also included.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a personal care composition additive for use on keratin substrates in order to provide long lasting benefits to the keratin substrate such as in conditioning systems, such as 2/1 shampoo's, leave-on and rinse off conditioners, for hair and skin, or for imparting greater water resistance to such personal care compositions as sunscreens or cosmetics.
Abstract:
The presently disclosed and claimed inventive concept(s) relates to a conditioning composition additive for use on keratin substrates in order to provide immediate as well as long lasting benefits to the keratin substrate in conditioning systems, such as leave-on and rinse off conditioners, for hair and skin, or for imparting greater water resistance to such personal care compositions as sunscreens or cosmetics. The presently disclosed and claimed inventive concept(s) also relates to a conditioning composition containing the conditioning composition additive and a method of applying the conditioning composition additive.
Abstract:
Aqueous fabric softening composition having good high temperature stability comprising a cationic fabric softening compound and water soluble polysaccharide polymers comprising hydrophobic groups selected from aryl, alkyl, alkenyl, aralkyl each having at least 14 carbon atoms and cationic quaternary ammonium salt groups such that the cationic degree of substitution is from 0.01 to 0.2, the polymers having a molecular weight in the range from 100,000 to 700,000.
Abstract:
A coating composition is composed of a water-soluble polysaccharide composition comprising at least one hydrophobic group selected from aryl, alkyl, alkenyl, aralkyl and mixtures thereof and at least one quaternary ammonium salt group, both connected to a polysaccharide backbone by covalent bonds. This coating is used for improving the leveling of waterborne paints.

Abstract:
Personal care compositions an emulsion has an oil phase, a water phase, and a mixed hydrophobe, non-ionic, water-soluble, hydrophobically modified polysaccharide composition comprising a non-ionic water-soluble polysaccharide backbone having at least one C3-C8 short chain hydrophobic group and at least one C9-C24 long chain hydrophobic group attached thereon. This emulsion can be used in a variety of end use applications including textiles, leather, metal treatments, food, pharmaceuticals, paints, agricultural chemicals, polymerization, cleaning and polishing applications, and ore and petroleum recovery. In particular the emulsion is of use in personal care formulation where the emulsion is a component of a vehicle system of the formulation. At least one active personal care ingredient or electrolytes is also present.
