A method of producing lycopene with high productivity by means of a recombinant bacterial strain includes preparing the recombinant vector containing genes encoding proteins, which are required for lycopene biosynthesis. The genes involved in lycopene biosynthesis are crtE, crtB and crtI, and at least one of the said three genes (crtE, crtB and crtI) is selected from the group consisting of crtE with the nucleotide Sequence 1, crtB with the nucleotide Sequence 3 and crtI with the nucleotide Sequence 5, of the Sequence List. The said recombinant vector is transformed into Escherichia coli.

At this time, the hydrolytic enzyme is selected from the group consisting of Savinase, Alcalase, Novozym 243, Everlase, Esperase, Protease 7 and Acylase, whereby (S)-indoline-2-carboxylic acid and methyl ester thereof having an optical purity of at least 99% e.e. can be obtained through a simplified preparation process, thus generating economic benefits.

Disclosed is a microwave oven comprising, a body divided into a cooking chamber and a device chamber, a magnetron installed in the device chamber of the body, a high voltage condenser and a high voltage transformer, and a blower for cooling elements installed in the device chamber. The blower comprises a fan for forcedly blowing air, and a motor having a stator, a rotor, and at least one fixing rod. The stator is equipped with a bobbin with a coil wound thereon. The stator provides the fan with a driving force. The fixing rod is extended from the stator and coupled with a rear panel of the body. The fixing rod passes through the rear panel, and is formed with a screw part at an end part thereof which is assembled with a nut. The blower for cooling the devices for generating microwave is directly fixed onto the rear panel of the body without using a bracket. Accordingly, unit cost is reduced due to a reduced amount of elements. In addition, the number of processes for assembling the blower is reduced, and the assembling efficiency as well as a productivity increase.

A continuous casting method, and a device for use in the casting method, are disclosed. The flow state of the discharged molten metal is properly controlled, and thus, the amounts of residual non-metallic inclusions and gas bubbles within the molten metal are decreased, so that continuously cast slabs of a good quality can be produced. The continuous casting device includes a mould with a submerged nozzle installed therein, the submerged nozzle having a pair of discharge holes directed toward narrow faces of the mould. Further, an electromagnetic brake ruler is included for establishing a magnetic field within the mould. The electromagnetic brake ruler includes a base frame surrounding the mould, and iron cores projecting from near the wide faces of the mould, while the iron cores are wound with induction coils. It further includes a pair of electromagnetic transferring parts connected to the iron cores, and disposed immediately above the discharge holes of the submerged nozzle toward narrow faces of the mould and in parallel with a discharge direction of the molten metal. With the magnetic field applied within the mould, the separation capability for the non-metallic inclusions and gas bubbles is increased so as to greatly reduce the internal defects of the cast products.

There are provided genes involved in the biosynthesis of lycopene and having DNA sequences set forth in SEQ ID NO: 1, SEQ ID NO: 3 and SEQ ID NO: 5 encoding proteins required for the biosynthesis of lycopene, a recombinant vector comprising at least one of the genes, and a mi croorganism transformed with the recombinant vector and having a high content of lycopene. The lycopene is obtained at a yield of 15.3 mg/L and a content of 4.2 mg/gDCW when the recombined E. coli with the crt genes is cultivated, and the lycopene is also obtained with the maximum content of 5.4 mg/gDCW when a microorganism is transformed with the combination of the gene of the present invention and the known genes. Therefore, provided is the lycopene-producing strain having a more increased content of lycopene per dry cell weight than the known lycopene-producing strain with the genes. Accordingly, the genes may be useful to mass-produce lycopene in microorganisms, and also to mass-produce carotenoids.
