    摘要: A device for use in a molten metal pump helps alleviate jams between a rotating rotor and stationary inlet. The device includes an inlet structure including one or more openings and a displacement structure that preferably includes one or more rotor blades. The inlet structure and displacement structure are connected to one another (preferably, but not necessarily, as a unitary piece), thus enabling them both to rotate. A pump including the device is also enclosed. The invention further includes a bearing surface for an impeller or for a device according to the invention, wherein the bearing surface includes grooves that help reduce molten metal build up between the bearing surface of the impeller or device and the bearing surface of a pump chamber.

    摘要: It is an object to provide a gas cupola for melting a charging material efficiently by a combustion flame of a combustion burner. The gas cupola includes a furnace body having a melting chamber 10 and a molten metal discharge port 11 for discharging the molten metal and a plurality of combustion burners 4 forming a combustion flame 41. The combustion burner 4 melts the charging material 2 in the melting chamber 10 by ejecting the combustion flame 41 to the charging material 2 in the melting chamber 10. Each combustion burner 4 generates a hollow shaped melting portion 42 at the charging material 2 of the melting chamber 10 by the combustion flame 41 ejected from each combustion burner 4. In the cross sectional view of the furnace body 1 taken along a horizontal direction, the combustion burners 4 are arranged so that the adjacently positioned two hollow shaped melting portions 42 overlap with each other. When the charging material 2 is melting, each hollow shaped melting portion 42 communicates with the molten metal discharge port 11.

    摘要: A liner for a ladle is formed of a body of refractory material defining a hollow interior which is bounded by a continuous sidewall. Within the interior is a barrier of refractory material which faces the interior surface of part of the sidewall and is spaced inwardly therefrom in the hollow interior of the body to define with said facing part of said sidewall a spout for discharging molten metal, in use, from the ladle. The barrier has two longitudinal edge surfaces received at two facing inner portions of the sidewall respectively which are extended inwardly. By providing these inward extensions the barrier can be positioned within the interior of the liner thereby obviating the need for an outward extension from the liner body to define a spout. This enables the liner to be used with ladle shells without the shell requiring modification to accommodate such an outward extension.

There is a housing in communication with the first and second vessels with a screw having at least one helical thread along the longitudinal shank within the housing for transferring material between vessels. The slurry entering the housing from the first vessel has the solids therein concentrated as the slurry is transported toward the second vessel while liquid is expressed from the slurry until the concentrated solids form a plug isolating the two second vessels as solids discharge into the second vessel.
