    摘要: A plasma display panel (PDP) according to one embodiment includes: a first substrate and a second substrate that are disposed substantially in parallel with each other with a predetermined distance therebetween; a plurality of address electrodes disposed on the first substrate; a first dielectric layer disposed on an entire surface of the first substrate while covering the address electrodes; a plurality of barrier ribs having a predetermined height from the first dielectric layer and disposed in a space between the first substrate and the second substrate to partition the space into discharge spaces of a predetermined size; a phosphor layer disposed in the discharge spaces; a plurality of display electrodes disposed on one side of the second substrate facing the first substrate in a direction crossing the address electrodes; a second dielectric layer disposed on an entire surface of the second substrate to cover the display electrodes; and a protective layer disposed to cover the second dielectric layer. The protective layer includes MgO having a crystalline grain size ranging from 100 to 500 nm and has a membrane density of less than or equal to 3.3 g/cm3.

    摘要: A plasma display device includes: a plasma display panel including an address electrode disposed on a first substrate, a pair of first and second display electrodes disposed on a second substrate and crossing the address electrode, a dielectric layer covering the first and second display electrodes on the second substrate, an MgO protective layer covering the dielectric layer on the second substrate, and discharge gases filled between the first and second substrates; a driver that drives the plasma display panel; and a controller that controls a sustain pulse width of a sustain period to be 1 to 3.5 μs. The MgO protective layer includes 200 to 3000 ppm by weight of Ca based on the content of MgO. The plasma display device shows improved discharge stability and display quality due to reduced discharge delay time.

    摘要: A plasma display panel (PDP) includes a first substrate and a second substrate opposing one another with a predetermined gap therebetween. The PDP also includes first electrodes formed on a surface of the first substrate opposing the second substrate, and second electrodes formed on a surface of the second substrate opposing the first substrate. Long axes of the first electrodes intersect those of the second electrodes. Also included in the PDP are dielectric layers. One dielectric layer is formed covering the first electrodes on the first substrate, and another dielectric layer is formed covering the second electrodes on the second substrate. There is further included an MgO protection layer that is formed covering the dielectric layer on the first substrate. A crystalline orientation planes of the MgO protection layer are produced by mixing (111) planes and (110) planes, and a mixing ratio of the (111) planes and the (110) planes is settled according to a grain size of the MgO protection layer.
