Abstract: A securement device for securing a medical article is disclosed. The securement device comprises a base and a first securing portion comprising a strap that is movable between an open position and a closed position and a connector disposed on the base. The strap cooperates with the connector in the closed position to form an enclosure. The strap further comprises a curvilinear segment that projects inwardly into the enclosure in a convex orientation when the strap is in the closed position. Securement systems for securing medical articles and methods of securing at least a portion of a medical article to a patient are also provided.

Abstract: A viscoelastic wound closure dressing. The dressing can include a viscoelastic backing having a first major surface configured to face skin when in use, a first end, a second end, and a middle section located between the first end and the second end. The wound closure dressing can further include a skin-contact adhesive on the first major surface of the viscoelastic backing adjacent the first end and the second end. A majority of the first major surface of the middle section can be free of the skin-contact adhesive. The viscoelastic backing can recover, at room temperature: (i) no more than 40% of its deformation after 10 seconds, after being strained to 50% elongation for 30 minutes, and (ii) at least 70% of its deformation after 48 hours, after being strained to 50% elongation for 30 minutes.

Abstract: A medical dressing (100) with a dressing body (102) and a flap (104). The flap can include a fixed end (120) coupled to the dressing body, and a free end (122) movable with respect to the dressing body between a first position and a second position in which the free end is positioned in overlapping relationship with the dressing body. A second major surface (116) of at least the free end of the flap can be configured to be secured to the dressing body, and the flap can be located toward a proximal end of the dressing body, such that a distal portion of the dressing body is free of the flap. The dressing body can be adhered to skin with a skin-contact adhesive (e.g., a silicone adhesive) (115), and the flap can be secured to the dressing body with a securing adhesive (e.g. an acrylate adhesive) (117) that can have a higher adhesion or adhesive strength.

Abstract: A securement system for securing a multi-lumen medical article. The system can include a patch, and a longitudinal flap. The flap can include a fixed proximal portion that is fixed with respect to the patch; a hinge; and a free distal portion movable via the hinge with respect to the patch and the fixed proximal portion of the flap between an open position and a closed position. The hinge can include a lateral width that is less than a lateral width of the patch and less than a lateral width of the flap. The hinge can be dimensioned to be received between two adjacent proximal tubings of the medical article, e.g., to provide a longitudinal stop to the medical article. The free distal portion can be configured to secure at least the multi-lumen joint of the medical article to the patch.
