    Abstract: A user equipment (UE), or other network component can operate to generate new radio (NR) communications in millimeter wave (mmW) frequencies. Body proximity sensing (BPS) operations can be performed to determine whether a maximum permissible exposure (MPE) event is triggered. A safe transmit power level associated with the one or more bands can then be used to provide the NR communications. Additionally, determinations of whether various conditions are satisfied to suspend the BPS operations for a period can be evaluated and implemented. The BPS can be configured such that a BPS period of the BPS operations are aligned with a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle at a beginning of a DRX on-duration of a DRX cycle, wherein the one or more conditions comprise a DRX idle time or state.

    Abstract: This disclosure relates to performing cellular communication in unlicensed spectrum in a manner that accounts for the possible existence of hidden nodes by opportunistically introducing the use of RTS and CTS messages. A listen-before-talk procedure may be performed to determine whether a wireless medium is available. When the listen-before-talk procedure is complete, an amount of time until a next possible start time for communicating in the cellular communication system according to a timing synchronization scheme for the cellular communication system may be determined. The wireless medium may be occupied until the next possible start time for communicating in the cellular communication system in a manner selected based at least in part on the amount of time until the next possible start time for communicating in the cellular communication system. Cellular communication may be performed on the wireless medium at the next possible start time for communicating in the cellular communication system.

    Abstract: This disclosure relates to techniques for providing robust downlink control information with flexible resource assignments for wireless devices that operate in a restricted bandwidth compared to the system bandwidth. A base station may determine a resource assignment for a wireless device. The base station may transmit downlink control information to the wireless device. The downlink control information may include an indication of a resource assignment for the wireless device. The indication of the resource assignment may include an indication of a first narrowband associated with the resource assignment, and an indication of whether one or more additional narrowbands are associated with the resource assignment. The base station and the wireless device may communicate data according to the resource assignment.

    Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to a mobile device that communicates over short-range networks and long-range networks. In various embodiments, a mobile device includes one or more radios configured to communicate using a plurality of radio access technologies (RATs) including a cellular RAT and a short-range RAT. The mobile device may establish a first connection and a second connection with a network such that the first connection uses the short-range RAT and the second connection uses the cellular RAT. The mobile may collect information about the second connection and communicate the collected information to the network over the first connection. In some embodiments, the information includes a base station identifier, an MCC, an MNC, the cellular RAT and a cellular information age indicating the time since the information about the second connection was collected by the UE.
