    Abstract: An apparatus includes an elongated housing having a first plurality of sidewalls that form a first isolation chamber on a first side of the elongated housing. A first printed circuit board (PCB) includes a first patch element, wherein the PCB defines a first plane. A first parasitic element disposed in a second plane, wherein the first parasitic element is retained a predetermined distance from the first patch element in the first plane. A second PCB is disposed within the elongated housing. A first radio is disposed on the second PCB, wherein the first radio is coupled to the first patch element, and wherein the first patch element and the first parasitic element, in response to radio frequency (RF) signals from the first radio, radiate electromagnetic energy in a first direction away from the first isolation chamber.

    Abstract: An electronic device includes a metal housing having a height greater than a width, four sides that form an inner chamber in a center thereof. Four sidewalls extend from a first back wall form a first chamber located at a first of the four sides. Four sidewalls extend from a second back wall form a second chamber located at a second of the four sides. A first antenna is disposed in the first chamber. A second antenna is disposed in the second chamber. A circuit board is disposed within the inner chamber and oriented longitudinally from a bottom of the inner chamber. A first radio is disposed on the circuit board and coupled to the first antenna. A second radio is disposed on the circuit board and coupled to the second antenna, such that the second antenna is electrically isolated from the first antenna.

    Abstract: The structural rigidity of a device is improved by overmolding one or more layers of the device housing over the antenna components, improving overall wall thickness and avoiding air gaps present in conventional devices. Pull tabs are implemented for battery installation and removal using a stretch-release adhesive connected to the tabs that can hold the battery in place and, upon pulling of the pull tabs, cause the battery to be removable from the device. Camera sensors larger than the camera optics are usable in a device by utilizing only image data captured by those pixels of the sensor that correspond to the appropriate part of the camera optics. Mechanical interlocks can be used advantageously for alignment and connection strength for side soldering. Optical alignment processes are used advantageously in situations such as mounting a device camera relative to an opening of a light absorbing layer on a cover glass sheet.
