    摘要: A system and method for monitoring performance of a wireless network are disclosed. According to one described example, at least one probe is generated. In the example, the probe determines the portion of a wireless network to monitor, the type of the probe, and the number and frequency of the probe or probes to target a specific carrier, a specific system, or a specific geographical area. A probe server generates the probe based on a parameter specified by the user and transmits the probe to a plurality of posts or to the wireless network. In the example, the probe server controls the posts to send and receive probes to the wireless network. In response to the received probes, the wireless network responds by sending feedback information, which can be used to indicate how the wireless network is performing.

    摘要: A continuity bridge in a broadband signal tap for providing a make-before-break connection of an input terminal to an output terminal of the tap. The broadband signal tap comprises a housing and a cover that is removably connected to the housing. The interior of the housing has an input terminal for receiving a signal from the feeder cable and an output terminal for returning the signal to the feeder cable. The cover includes circuitry for splitting the signal and delivering a portion thereof to at least one subscriber port on the cover. The cover has an input socket and an output socket, each being removably engaged with and electrically connected to the input and output terminals, respectively, of the housing. The continuity bridge in the housing connects the input terminal to the output terminal upon the removal of the cover from the housing prior to the disengagement of the sockets from the terminals. The continuity bridge thus provides a make-before-break connection of the input terminal to the output terminal, thereby ensuring that there is no discontinuity of signal flow through the tap upon the removal of the cover from the housing.

    摘要: A broadband signal tap includes a reversible directional coupler and a make-before-break signal continuity bridge. The electronic circuitry of the directional coupler is provided on a daughterboard that is removably connected to a motherboard in the tap. The removable daughterboard has a plurality of symmetrically arranged connection means and the motherboard has a plurality of symmetrically arranged connection points for accepting connections with the plurality of symmetrically arranged outputs on the daughterboard. The connections on the motherboard and on the daughterboard are physically and functionally symmetrical, thereby permitting the daughterboard to be reversed. The daughterboard is maintained in a housing. The housing has elongated fingers which, when pushed downward onto the motherboard, penetrate through retaining holes in motherboard, thereby retaining the housing on the motherboard. An electrically conductive continuity bridge is provided on the bottom of the motherboard for maintaining electrical continuity of the broadband signal when the daughterboard is removed from the motherboard. The continuity bridge includes a unitary spring metal having a center portion and two end portions. Upon connection of the housing to the motherboard, the elongated fingers push against and urge the end portions of the continuity bridge away from connections on the motherboard, thus disengaging the electrically conductive continuity bridge. Conversely, when the housing is removed from the motherboard, the end portions of the continuity bridge make contact with connections on the motherboard before the connectors of the daughterboard are disconnected from the motherboard, thereby maintaining continuity of the broadband signal through the tap when the daughterboard is disconnected from the motherboard.
