Abstract: A source electronic device may include first interface circuitry that transmits a data packet over a wireless link to a sink electronic device to present the data packet as part of a video stream. The source electronic device may also include encoder circuitry that encodes the data packet for transmission through the wireless link and a feedback path communicatively coupling the encoder circuitry directly to the first interface circuitry. The feedback path may transmit one or more feedback signals from the first interface circuitry to the encoder circuitry, bypassing a network layer, an encoder driver, or both. The encoder circuitry, the first interface circuitry, or both may adjust one or more transmission parameters associated with transmitting the data packet over the wireless link, based on the one or more feedback signals.

Abstract: In order to reduce the power consumption after a transmitting electronic device in a wireless network has been detected, a receiving electronic device calculates transmit times of subsequent beacons from the transmitting electronic device based on a clock drift of the transmitting electronic device and the beacon period. Then, the receiving electronic device receives the subsequent beacon by opening scan windows that encompass the calculated transmit times. However, because the transmit times are more predictable after the transmitting electronic device has been detected (and the clock drift of the transmitting electronic device is known to the receiving electronic device), the receiving electronic device can reduce the width of the scan windows. In addition, the transmitting electronic device can further reduce the power consumption by increasing the beacon period.

Abstract: A method and system for an improved communication mode for Bluetooth wireless devices is disclosed. Packets used in the improved communication mode are encoded using a convolutional encoder and transmitted with a particular modulation index such that the improved communication mode provides an improved link margin with respect to a communication mode specified in a Bluetooth wireless communication protocol. In this regard, the improved communication mode allows Bluetooth wireless devices to continue to communicate when a communication link between the Bluetooth wireless devices degrades, whereas otherwise the connection would be dropped. Furthermore, the Bluetooth wireless devices seamlessly switch between the improved communication mode and other Bluetooth communication modes without renegotiating the connection.

Abstract: Performing early termination of reception by a mobile station. The mobile station may receive a wireless transmission. The wireless transmission may include a physical layer (PHY) header, a media access control (MAC) header, and data. The mobile station may determine a duration and a destination address from the MAC header. The mobile station may determine if the wireless transmission is intended for the mobile station using the destination address. In response to determining that the wireless transmission is not intended for the mobile station, the mobile station may enter a low power mode prior to completion of the wireless transmission. The length of time of the low power mode may be based on the duration of the first wireless transmission.
