Abstract: A medical device may comprise a handle, a first shaft extending from a distal end of the handle, and a second shaft extending a lumen of the first shaft. The handle may further include a first actuator and a second actuator. The first shaft may include (1) a plurality of lumens extending therethrough, (2) a distal face, and (3) a longitudinal axis. Actuation of the first actuator may articulate a distal portion of the first shaft. The second shaft may be axially movable relative to the first shaft such that the second shaft extends out of a distal opening of the first lumen and distally of the distal face. Actuation of the second actuator may articulate a distal portion of the second shaft.

Abstract: An ostomy device includes an implant formed of a flexible material and shaped so that the implant is capable of transitioning between a first shape and a second shape. The implant includes a tubular body sized and shaped for insertion within a lumen extending through a hole in an abdominal wall, a flared portion extending radially outward and away from the body when the implant is in the first shape, and a transition region between the body and the flared portion. The transition region and the flared portion are bendable so that transitioning the implant from the first shape into the second shape comprises inverting the flared portion so that a surface of the flared portion can be brought into contact with an outer surface of patient anatomy, whereupon the implant can be attached to the patient anatomy in the second shape.

In the expanded configuration, the distal portion may be configured to anchor to a target site in an anatomy. The medical system may further include a porous body coupled to a distal end of a tube. The tube may include a first lumen and a second lumen. The first lumen may be configured to receive at least the proximal portion of the guidewire and the second lumen may be configured to be coupled to a source of suction.

The sponge may include a plurality of perforations that form one or more tear surfaces. The one or more tear surfaces may define a predefined location for removing a first portion of the sponge from a second portion of the sponge. The one or more tear surfaces may form a boundary between a radially inner surface of the first portion and a radially outer surface of the second portion. The medical device may further include a tube coupled to a proximal portion of the sponge.
