Abstract: A data processing method for determining six parameters, corresponding to six degrees of freedom, of a contact position of a joint which connects two bones, comprising the steps of acquiring a 3D model of each bone, acquiring four of the six parameters as a given parameters, selecting initial values for the two remaining parameters and varying the two remaining parameters virtually in order to achieve a virtual relative position between the two 3D models such that they are in contact with each other.

Abstract: Implant orientation data representing a range of functional orientations of a first implant part relative to a first bone is determined. The first implant part is part of an implant pair to be implanted in an associated patient. The implant pair includes the first implant part and a second implant part. Second implant orientation data representing an orientation of the second implant part relative to a second bone is acquired. Implant shape data representing shapes of the first and the second implant parts is acquired. Activity data representing a desired activity of the associated patient is acquired. The desired activity has an associated original range of motion between the first bone and the second bone. The implant orientation data is determined based on the second implant orientation data, the implant shape data, and the activity data.

Abstract: Provided is a method for generating pose transformation data between first and second rigidly mounted digital cameras having non-coincident fields of view. The method includes obtaining a first plurality of images of a first calibration object, obtaining a second plurality of images of the first or a second calibration object, generating first and second object point data, generating first and second calibration data of the first and second digital cameras, determining first pose data between a first frame of reference of the first digital camera and the frame of reference of the first calibration object, determining second pose data between the frame of reference of the second digital camera and the frame of reference of the first or second calibration objects, and calculating the pose transformation data between the pose of the first digital camera and the pose of the second digital camera.
