    Abstract: A formation sheet is equipped with (i) a base, and (ii) n thermal expansion layers (n is greater than or equal to two) stacked on a first main surface of the base and each including a binder and a thermal expansion material that expands due to heat. Among post-expansion average particle sizes of the thermal expansion materials included in the n thermal expansion layers, a post-expansion average particle size of the thermal expansion material included in an n-th thermal expansion layer is smallest.

    Abstract: An thermally expandable sheet includes a base and a thermal expansion layer arranged on one surface of the base and configured to be used in manufacture of a shaped object by swelling of at least a portion of the thermal expansion layer. The thermal expansion layer includes a first thermally expandable material having a first expansion initiation temperature and a first maximum expansion temperature, and a second thermally expandable material having a second expansion initiation temperature and a second maximum expansion temperature. The first expansion initiation temperature and the second expansion initiation temperature are high in comparison to a temperature of an environment in which the shaped object is to be placed. The second maximum expansion temperature is high in comparison to the first maximum expansion temperature.

    Abstract: A printing method includes the steps of: printing a predetermined pattern on a distendable sheet before distending; distending the distendable sheet printed the predetermined pattern; calculating a displacement amount of the predetermined pattern between before and after the distending of the distendable sheet; deforming an original image by a deformation amount determined based on the calculated displacement amount; and printing the deformed original image as an image for printing on the distendable sheet.
