    摘要: A coated, oriented plastic film material is provided wherein the coating is applied in an aqueous medium comprising a water dispersible copolyester consisting essentially of the condensation product of components A, B, C and D or their polyester forming equivalents as follows:(A) about 65 to 95 mole percent of isophthalic acid;(B) about 0 to 30 mole percent of at least one aliphatic dicarboxylic acid of the formula HOOC(CH.sub.2).sub.n COOH, wherein n ranges from about 1-11;(C) about 5 to about 15 mole percent of at least one sulfomonomer containing an alkali metal sulfonate group attached to a dicarboxylic aromatic nucleus, and(D) stoichiometric quantities of about 100 mole percent of at least one copolymerizable aliphatic or cycloaliphatic alkylene glycol having about from 2 to 11 carbon atoms.The copolyester coating layer may be applied to the film, e.g., polyester film, at any suitable stage during manufacture of the film, i.e., before, during, or after the stretching operations. The resultant coated polyester film is found to provide excellent adhesion to metallic coatings subsequently applied thereto by metallizing techniques.

    摘要: A reclaimable release coating composition is provided which includes a blend of an adhesion promoter and a silicone release agent which may be applied from an aqueous solution, dispersion or emulsion. The components form regions of adhesion promoting sites disrupted by regions of release sites on the surface of a release backing substrate coated with the composition. The different regions are substantially homogeneously distributed across the entirety of the release surface. When used as a release coating for a backing to protect an adhesive, a controlled release force of a predictable value may be obtained by providing a known weight ratio of adhesion promoter to silicone release agent in the coating composition. A substantially linear relationship is also provided between the release force required to peel a non-silicone adhesive from the release coating surface, and the weight ratio of vinyl-functional polyorganosiloxane oil to hydrogen-functional siloxane crosslinker in the release agent, such that a consistent, uniform and repeatable release force from the surface may be obtained.
