Abstract:
In order to remedy the drawbacks consisting of separations at the end of upturns (50) of the carcass reinforcement (1) of a tire having frustoconical seats as well as the rapid wear of the bead protectors, said tire is provided with beads (B) each of which has an auxiliary bead ring (4) located in the part intended to cover the tire flange (13), a reinforcement ply (5) being wound around the bead ring (4) in order to form two layers (51) and (52) which extend to the tip (6) of the bead (B).
Abstract:
A tire structure with radial carcass reinforcement for heavy vehicles and rticularly a tire bead structure which makes it possible to have, on unmodified rims, sidewalls the radii of curvature of which are sufficiently great to avoid premature fatigue of the constituent reinforcement elements of the carcass as a result of the flexing cycles generated by travel. The said tire structure has at least one bead wire (2) which is located radially to the outside of the rim flange (J) and around which the turn-up (1') of the carcass (1) is formed.
Abstract:
An assembly formed of a tire and removable protector, intended to be mounted and used on a rim having frustoconical seats. The tire has beads (5) the outer contour of which is formed primarily by a frustoconical zone (80) substantially parallel to the axis of rotation and by a frustoconical zone forming an angle of between 45.degree. and 90.degree. with the axis of rotation. The removable protector (2), the contours of which are adapted on the one hand to the profile (10, 11, 12) of the mounting rim (J) and, on the other hand, to the profile (80, 81, 82) of the corresponding bead (5), is reinforced by a bead ring (3) around which there is wrapped a ply (4) forming two layers (41, 42) extending up to the point (40') of said removable protector (2). While improving the initial life of the tire, the invention permits easier and less expensive recapping.
