摘要: A method of making a tire includes providing a first body ply having a first width and laying a second body ply above the first body ply. The second body ply has a second width less than the first width. The method also includes laying a third body ply above the second body ply. The third body ply has a third width greater than the first width. The method further includes laying a first bead at a first location above the third body ply, laying a second bead at a second location above the third body ply, laying a first stabilizer ply insert at a third location above the third body ply, and laying a second stabilizer ply insert at a fourth location above the third body ply. The third location is between the first location and the second location, and the fourth location is between the third location and the second location.

摘要: In this pneumatic tire, the bead core has a predetermined wire array structure obtained by arranging wire cross-sections of bead wires in a cross-sectional view in a tire meridian direction. The following are defined in the wire array structure: a tangent line that contacts, from the side of a rim fitting face, an innermost layer in the tire radial direction and the wire cross-section on the innermost side and the outermost side in the tire lateral direction; contact points of the tangent line with respect to the wire cross-sections on the innermost side and the outermost side; a middle point of the contact points; and gauges in the tire radial direction from the contact points and middle point to the rim fitting face. In this case, the change rates of the gauges before and after rim assembly each are in the range of 10% to 60%.

摘要: A tire having reduced mass and low rolling resistance and a method of manufacture thereof achieves reduced weight by using thin layers of thermoplastic polyurethanes (“TPU's”) to heat seal the carcass, breaker, and tread layers of the tire to each other, rather than embedding the layers in conventional, relatively thicker and heavier layers of sulfur cured vulcanized carbon filled elastomers. Creep and “spring-back” of the thermoplastic polyurethanes during cure is avoided by maintaining the adhered layers under pressure until the assembly cools below its glass transition temperature. In embodiments, the heat sealing can be performed on the forming drum, and in some embodiments cool rollers are applied to the heat-sealed carcass so as to accelerate the cooling to below the glass transition temperature.

摘要: When (I) a tyre 1 is in contact with a flat surface (S) with a camber angle θ of 40 degrees, (II) a load (F) applied to the tyre is increased from zero, and (III) a curve (T) is obtained by plotting, in a XY coordinate, a displacement (Δx) in a tyre axial direction and a displacement (Δy) in a tyre radial direction of a position (A) of one of tyre tread edges (Te) closer to the flat surface (S), the displacements being from a reference position (A0) when the load (F) is zero, inclination of the curve (T) increases as the load (F) increases at least in a range where the load (F) is not more than 78% of a maximum load capacity load of the tyre.

摘要: An intermediate article of manufacture formed as a first stage bead area subassembly for a split ply pneumatic tire carcass is disclosed. The bead area subassembly has an annular bead core; a bead apex; a ply strip; and preferably a sidewall affixed to the ply strip. The subassembly is formed into a disk-shaped bead area monocomponent. The ply strip is wrapped about the bead core and the apex to form a ply turnup and both the ply strip and the ply turnup extend radially outwardly from the bead core. The bead area subassembly when formed into the disk-shaped bead area monocomponent is placed on an annular holder device.

One of the at least two inner layers that is axially nearest the bead core is decoupled for at least a part of its length, in an area adjacent to and radially outward of the bead core, from the turn-ups and carcass reinforcement layers which are axially outward of it, by at least one polymeric bead filler compound.

The carcass further comprises an additional reinforcement layer which wraps around the bead and is preferably positioned between the shoulder ply and the first ply layer, although not required.

摘要: A tire having an outside-in ply construction is provided which torques the tire bead into the rim of the wheel to which it is mounted. The tire has first and second axially-spaced bead cores, a carcass having at least one belt extending under a tread, and a first ply layer having first and second ends. A first end is located axially outside and adjacent a first bead core, and a second end folds from a position axially outside a second bead core to a position axially inside and around the second bead core. The carcass further comprises a second ply layer having first and second ends, a first end is located axially outside and adjacent the second bead core, and a second end that folds from a position axially outside a first bead core to a position axially inside and around the first bead core. The tire may also comprise a first and second axially-spaced bead core, a carcass having at least one belt extending under a tread, and a first ply layer having first and second ends, a first end is located axially outside and adjacent a first bead core, and a second end that is located axially outside and adjacent a second bead core.
