Abstract: A method for cleaning a particulate matter filter is discussed. The particulate filter can include an inlet and an outlet, where the outlet includes openings to a plurality of outlet channels, and the inlet includes openings to a plurality of inlet channels. The outlet channels and the inlet channels are separated by a filer barrier. A fluid nozzle is positioned in contact with the outlet of the particulate filter over a first set of outlet channels. Fluid form the fluid nozzle is injected into the first set of outlet channels. While injecting the fluid, the position of the fluid nozzle is changed such that the fluid nozzle is positioned over a second set of outlet channels.

Abstract: A particulate filter inspection system for a particulate filter includes a compressed air source, a primary conduit, a controller, a probe, and a gauge. The compressed air source is configured to draw air from an air source. The primary conduit is configured to receive the air from the compressed air source. The probe is coupled to the primary conduit and communicable with the controller. The probe is configured to interface with a face of the particulate filter to provide the air to only a sector of the particulate filter. The gauge is configured to determine a pressure of the air within the primary conduit when the probe is providing air to only a sector of the face of the particulate filter. The controller is configured to receive the pressure from the gauge, compare the pressure to a target upper pressure, and provide an indication that the particulate filter is dirty if the pressure is not lower than the target upper pressure.

Abstract: An exhaust gas aftertreatment system for an internal combustion engine includes an inlet conduit, a reductant decomposition chamber, a first selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst member, a second SCR catalyst member, a mixing chamber, a particulate filter, a reductant delivery system, and a hydrocarbon delivery system. The inlet conduit is configured to receive exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine. The reductant decomposition chamber is fluidly coupled to the inlet conduit and configured to receive the exhaust gas from the inlet conduit. The first SCR catalyst member is fluidly coupled to the reductant decomposition chamber and configured to receive the exhaust gas from the reductant decomposition chamber. The second SCR catalyst member is fluidly coupled to the first SCR catalyst member and is configured to receive the exhaust gas from the first SCR catalyst member.

Abstract: A computer system is structured to determine a density of particulate matter in a diesel particulate filter (DPF) sample. The computer system includes a processing circuit having a processor and a memory. The processing circuit is structured to generate a computed tomography (CT) scan-based image of the DPF sample; and, segment the CT scan-based image of the DPF sample into a plurality of regions. For at least one region from the plurality of regions, the processing circuit is structured to determine a density of a portion of the DPF sample corresponding to the at least one region of the CT scan-based image of the DPF sample and cause an electronic display of a user device to display the CT scan-based image including the at least one region and an indication of the density for the at least one region.
