Abstract: A high pressure valve includes a body on which is fixed an electromagnet, the shell of which has a radial discal part provided with a central hole connecting an internal opposite surface to an external surface. The body is provided with a cylindrical external centring surface and with a radial support surface. The shell is arranged on the body around the centring surface, the external discal surface being in surface contact against the support surface of the body. The coil of the electromagnet is arranged in the tubular space between the body and the shell itself closed by a closure ring. The liquid-tightness between the body and the shell is ensured by a gasket compressed by a wedging washer against the centring surface and against the internal discal surface. The shell is then immobilised on the body by the wedging washer.

Abstract: A solenoid valve which regulates the pressure in a pressurized fuel injection system includes a body containing a needle that is pressed by an electromagnet including a coil and a magnetic core. The core has a cavity that is in fluid communication via an internal channel with a counterbore in the body into which the needle protrudes and into which fuel flows during use. The core also has a restriction which restricts the fluid communication and which attenuates pressure waves propagating in the fuel to prevent the waves from moving the core.

Abstract: A nozzle able to be arranged in a diesel injection system of the internal combustion engine of a vehicle comprises a fixed member provided with a nozzle seat at the center of which there opens a discharge orifice, the fixed member comprising a cylindrical tubular part defining an inner guide cylinder extending axially from an open first end as far as the seat that forms the closed end of the guide cylinder, and a shut-off member arranged and guided in the guide cylinder, the shut-off member being able to move between a closed state (EF) when the shut-off member is in abutment against the seat and an open state (EO) when the shut-off member opens the discharge orifice.

Abstract: An inlet valve assembly for a high-pressure fuel pump is disclosed. The inlet valve assembly comprises an inlet valve member moveable between open and closed positions to control the fuel flow from a source of low-pressure fuel to a pumping chamber of the fuel pump, a first biasing spring arranged to apply a first force to the valve member in an opening direction, a second biasing spring arranged to apply a second force to the valve member in a closing direction, and an actuator arrangement operable to remove the first force from the valve member, thereby to allow the valve member to move into its closed position.
