    摘要: An arrangement for preventing lead wires on a patient monitoring or treatment device from becoming tangled. The arrangement comprises a plurality of electrically conductive lead wires, each having a fixed end and a free end, the fixed end being electrically coupled to the patient monitoring or treatment device. A mating connector is coupled to the free end of each of the plurality of electrically conductive lead wires. Each mating connector is electrically mateable with an electrode and also mateable with another mating connector to attach the free ends of at least two of the plurality of electrically conductive lead wires together. In one embodiment, a mounting member is provided that includes means for releasably connecting the mating connectors to store the mating connectors during periods of non-use.

The method of the present invention comprises determining whether an ECG lead is measured or derived and selecting an ECG interpretation algorithm based upon this determination.

    摘要: An apparatus for producing a trigger signal, for use with a medical device, that is synchronized to a heartbeat in a subject of interest. The apparatus includes a sensor for obtaining ECG data from the subject of interest. The apparatus further includes a processor coupled to the sensor, with the processor configured to generate the trigger signal based on a real time analysis of the ECG data and to only synchronize and transmit the trigger signal to the medical device if a pre-selected characteristic of the heartbeat is identified. The apparatus further includes and a display device coupled to the processor and configured to display the ECG data and the trigger signal.

    摘要: An impedance variation respiration monitor determines the variation in human body impedance between two electrodes coupled to the surface of the body. One of the two electrodes is attached to the thorax below the armpit and the other of the two electrodes is attached to the leg extending from the opposing side of the thorax. The variation in impedance between these two electrodes measured by the monitor is closely correlated to the respiration rate of the subject and is particularly responsive to and indicates combined abdominal and thoracic breathing.

    摘要: An ECG signal is acquired in multiple channels, and sources of interference are filtered from the signals. A covariance matrix is then formed with the channels of data. The invention then employs matrix mathematics to discover a set of eigenvectors that organize the variability of data in a multi-dimensional space along new directions, orthogonal to each other and ranked in order of significance. For each eigenvector, a corresponding eigenvalue is calculated. In addition, coefficients are calculated which correspond to the portion of each eigenvector that is necessary to reconstruct each original vector. From the eigenvector solution of the covariance matrix, the angles between the eigenvectors and the original vectors are determined. The eigenvector coefficients and the angles between the eigenvectors and the original vectors are related by a cosine relationship. The angles calculated for each particular ECG test are compared to a reference set of angles to determine whether the electrodes are placed in the standard ECG electrode placement, an alternative electrode placement, or an incorrect electrode placement.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for printing on both sides of a medium by passing the medium through a printing device and printing on oppositely facing portions of the medium during a single pass of the medium through the printing device. Preferably, a first print head prints on one portion while a second print head prints on the other portion. The medium is preferably folded so that after the printing is completed and the folded medium is unfolded, the printed information on one portion of the medium correlates with the printed information on the other portion of the medium. The printed information is preferably data that has been measured with respect to time, and the printed data on the oppositely facing portions correlate with respect to time. Preferably, the data is medical patient data in the form of textual data, physiological waveforms, or a combination of both.
