Abstract:
There is provided a coating solution composition of a photo-alignment material. The coating solution composition of the photo-alignment material, adaptive for a photo-alignment process, employs a imidazolidinone-based solvent instead of a typical NMP-based solvent. In a coating method, the photo-alignment material is coated on a substrate in a state that its structure is stabilized in the coating solution through optimization of the coating solution composition. Accordingly, the photoreaction yield increases and a reaction product is stabilized so that a twist angle and a pretilt angle can be improved.
Abstract:
A light irradiation apparatus adapted to form an alignment of an LCD device through a photo alignment process is disclosed. The light irradiation apparatus includes a light source generating ultraviolet light, a polarizer polarizing the ultraviolet light generated in the light source, and a filter blocking off the polarized light from the polarizer except an effective wavelength band of light for a photo alignment.
Abstract:
An LCD device adapted to improve a residual image matter is disclosed. The LCD device includes an alignment layer aligning the liquid crystal. The alignment layer is formed of an optically aligned composition inclusive of an aromatic compound. Also, the alignment layer undergoes a crosslinking process. In accordance therewith, the thermalization of the alignment layer is improved. As a result, the residual image problem of the LCD device can be solved.

Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display (LCD) device includes preparing first and second substrates, at least one of the first and second substrates being a transparent substrate; forming a plurality of the column spacers on the first substrate for maintaining a cell gap between the first and second substrates and a sidewall on the first substrate for sealing the periphery of the substrates; applying an adhesive solution including an adhesive diluted with an organic solvent onto the first substrate having the column spacers and the sidewall thereon; positioning the second substrate on the first substrate so that the first and second substrates face each other; adhering the column spacers to the second substrate by drying the organic solvent from the adhesive solution; and providing a liquid crystal material between the first and second substrates.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a liquid crystal display panel and the fabricating method thereof that is adaptive for preventing the deterioration of display quality in a high temperature environment. A liquid crystal display panel according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a lower array substrate and an upper array substrate which face each other with a liquid crystal therebetween; and an alignment film formed in each of the upper array substrate and the lower array substrate for aligning the liquid crystal, wherein the alignment film is formed of polymers where an optically active radical as a functional group is combined into any one of a polybenzoxazole group compound, a polybenzthiazole group compound or a polybenzimidazole group compound.
