Abstract: Rinse aid compositions, methods of use, and methods of making said composition are disclosed. The rinse aid compositions can be solid or liquid. The rinse aid compositions comprise a defoamer, a sheeting agent, and a terpolyer of of maleic, vinyl acetate, and ethyl acrylate. Preferred sheeting agents include one or more alcohol ethyoxylates. Preferred defoamer components include a polymer compound including one or more ethylene oxide groups. The solid rinse aid compositions are preferably substantially free of sulfate and sulfate-containing compounds.

Abstract: A highly alkaline detergent is described which includes the use of a carboxylic acid terpolymer in combination with an alkali metal hydroxide. The detergent maintains cleaning functions and also prevents hard water scaling at application temperatures, for example at temperatures of between about 145-180 degrees Fahrenheit and, for example, at a pH of 9.5 to about 13.

Abstract: Detergent compositions that contain an enzyme, alkaline source, and phosphonate or amine phosphonate salt are described here. A use solution of the detergent compositions containing disclosed phosphonates can retain its enzyme activity for an extended period of time. Specifically, one specific type of phosphonates and another specific type of amine phosphonate salts were discovered to stabilize enzymes in detergent compositions. Solid detergent compositions that contain disclosed phosphonate or amine phosphonate salts are more effective to remove soils and can save production and use costs.

Abstract: Detergent compositions effective for controlling hard water scale accumulation are disclosed. Detergent compositions employing phosphinosuccinic acid and mono-, bis- and oligomeric phosphinosuccinic acid (PSO) derivatives with alkali metal carbonate and/or alkali metal hydroxide reduce had water scale accumulation on treated surfaces at alkaline conditions between about pH of 9 and 12.5.
