Abstract: Provided are a projection image display member having a high visible light transmittance, suppressing a double image of a display image, and having excellent suitability of polarized sunglasses for incident light reflected from external light, a windshield glass using the projection image display member, and a head-up display system. The problem is solved such that one or more phase difference layers, one or more selective reflection layers, and one or more polarization conversion layers are provided in this order, the polarization conversion layer being a layer in which a helical alignment structure of a liquid crystal compound is fixed, and the number of pitches x of the helical alignment structure and a film thickness y (μm) of the polarization conversion layer satisfying “0.3≤x≤7.0”, “0.5≤y≤6.0”, “y≤0.7x+3.2”, and “y≥0.7x−1.4”.

Abstract: There are provided a reflection film, a windshield glass, and a head-up display system capable of suppressing formation of double images of a display image. The reflection film has a linearly polarized light reflection layer in which optically anisotropic layers and isotropic layers are laminated and a polarization converting layer, and the polarization converting layer satisfies any of conditions below.
(A) The polarization converting layer is a retardation layer in which the front retardation is 30 nm to 200 nm and the angle between a slow axis direction and a direction of the transmission axis of the linearly polarized light reflection layer is 35° or less.
(B) The polarization converting layer is a layer in which a helical alignment structure of a liquid crystal compound is fixed, and the number of pitches x in the helical alignment structure and the film thickness y (unit μm) of the polarization converting layer satisfy all relational expressions below.

Abstract: A polymerizable composition includes a polymerizable liquid crystal compound of Formula (I) and a urethane (meth)acrylate monomer including a urethane bond and three or more (meth)acryloyl groups: Q1-Sp1A-Lm-1A-Sp2-Q2 (I) In Formula (I), A represents a cyclic divalent group (at least one is a divalent saturated hydrocarbon ring group), L preferably represents —C(═O)O— or —OC(═O)—, m represents 3 to 12, Sp1 and Sp2 preferably are alkylene, and any one of Q1 and Q2 represents a polymerizable group. A film including a layer obtained by curing the polymerizable composition; and a film adjacently including a layer obtained by curing the polymerizable composition including a polymerizable liquid crystal compound represented by Formula (I) and a layer obtained by curing a composition including a urethane (meth)acrylate monomer and a manufacturing method thereof, are also disclosed. The polymerizable composition includes a polymerizable liquid crystal compound having low birefringence and provides a highly durable optical film.

Abstract: A vehicle mirror having an image display function includes an image display device, a circularly polarized light reflection layer, and a front plate formed of glass or plastic in this order. The circularly polarized light reflection layer includes a linearly polarized light reflection plate and a 1/4 wavelength plate from a side of the image display device. The linearly polarized light reflection plate and the 1/4 wavelength plate are directly in contact with each other, or only an alignment layer is included between the linearly polarized light reflection plate and the 1/4 wavelength plate. A method for producing the vehicle mirror includes forming the 1/4 wavelength plate from a composition that is directly applied to the surface of the linearly polarized light reflection plate or that is directly applied to the surface of the alignment layer directly in contact with the linearly polarized light reflection plate.

Abstract: Provided are a reflection film, which enables high visible light transmittance, an increase in the brightness of a display image, and favorable transparency of an external tint, a windshield glass, and a head-up display system. The reflection film includes a selective reflection layer formed of a cholesteric liquid crystal layer with a cholesteric liquid crystalline phase immobilized. In each of a wavelength range of 400 nm or more and less than 500 nm and a wavelength range of 500 nm or more and less than 600 nm, a maximum value of a natural light reflectivity is 10% to 25%, the greatest difference between the greatest maximum value and the smallest minimum value of the natural light reflectivity is 3% or more, and a total value of wavelength bandwidths in a region where a reflectivity is higher than an average value of the maximum value and the minimum value of the natural light reflectivity is 20 nm to 80 nm. In a wavelength range of 600 nm or more and 800 nm or less, a maximum value of a natural light reflectivity is 10% to 25%, and a total value of wavelength bandwidths in a region where a reflectivity is higher than an average value of the maximum value and the minimum value of the natural light reflectivity is 120 nm or more.

Abstract: There are provided a projection image-displaying member, a windshield glass, and a head-up display system in which both high visible light transmittance and good tint of a screen image displayed are achieved. The projection image-displaying member has a selectively reflecting layer that wavelength-selectively reflects light. The selectively reflecting layer has a maximum reflectivity in a wavelength range of 700 to 850 nm at an incidence angle of 5° and has a peak with a reflectivity of 15% or more in a wavelength range of 470 to 540 nm. The selectively reflecting layer further has two or more peaks of reflectivity in a wavelength range of 540 to 700 nm.

Abstract: The present invention provides a polymerizable composition containing a polymerizable liquid crystal compound represented by Formula (I) and an oxime compound, in the formula, A1 and A2 each represent a phenylene group or a trans-1,4-cyclohexylene group, L1 and L2 each represent single bond, —C(═O)O—, or —OC(═O)—, Q1 and Q2 each represent a polymerizable group or the like, m and n represent an integer of 0 to 2, X may represent —X3-Sp3-Q3 or two X's may be bonded to each other to form a fused ring, X3 represents —C(═O)O—, Sp1, Sp2, and Sp3 each represent single bond, an alkylene group, or the like, Q3 represents hydrogen atom, a cycloalkyl group, a polymerizable group, or the like, and l represents an integer of 0 to 4. The polymerizable composition hardly causes yellowing after curing and is useful for manufacturing a film and a half mirror for displaying a projection image.
