Abstract: A telecommunication system includes base stations, a backhaul network transmitters, a backhaul network in communication with the base stations, and a synchronizing system in communication with the base stations. The base stations are configured to transmit/receive signals to/from user equipment and the backhaul network is configured to convey information to and from at least one of the base stations. The synchronizing system is configured to synchronize a communication timing between the base stations over a synchronizing network. The synchronizing network is separate from the backhaul network and is configured to provide the communication timing between the synchronizing system and a corresponding synchronization port at each of the base stations.

Abstract: Wireless spectral or bandwidth efficiency can be impacted when multiple wireless clients are competing for the medium. The proposed methods and systems use separate frequency band for at least certain uplink and downlink transmissions in response to medium contention. A wireless client device includes a host driver and a first and second wireless channel transceiver configured to communicate on first and second wireless communication channels, respectively. The client device operates in a first or second mode. When the client device operates in the first mode, it transmits transport layer acknowledgement messages for packets received over the first wireless communication channel over the first wireless communication channel using the first wireless channel transceiver. When the client device operates in the second mode, it transmits transport layer acknowledgement messages for packets received over the first communication channel over the second wireless communication channel using the second wireless channel transceiver.

Abstract: Systems and method are disclosed for obtaining an allocation of spectrum for a wireless access point in a self-organized network. The desirability of available wireless communication channels are ranked and the highest ranked wireless communication channel is initially selected. A request to a spectrum access system is made requesting allocation of the selected channel at a maximum power level. In response to receiving a denial of the request for allocation at the maximum power level, a request is transmitted to the spectrum allocation authority is requesting allocation of the selected channel at a minimum acceptable power level. In response to receiving a grant of an allocation of the selected channel at the minimum acceptable power level, a search is initiated with the spectrum allocation authority for a highest allocable power level for the selected channel.

Abstract: Spectrum access allocation processes and systems are described in which multiple tiers of predetermined transmission powers are enforced, and where access is established by transmission at or below the lowest predetermined transmission power. The allocation processes include provisioning a wireless interface between a spectrum access system and a user equipment that is not registered with the spectrum access system. The wireless interface permits data transfer at or below a first predetermined power setting. A request to register the user equipment with the spectrum access system is transmitted to a spectrum access server. The spectrum access server receives a message from the spectrum access server indicating that the user equipment has been registered with the spectrum access system. The user equipment is controlled to transmit data at a second predetermined power setting that is greater than the first predetermined power setting.

Abstract: A method of controlling a temperature of a femtocell includes receiving, at data processing hardware of the femtocell, temperature measurements from a temperature sensor configured to measure a temperature of at least one of the data processing hardware or a power amplifier of the femtocell. When the femtocell is operating above the threshold temperature, the method includes modifying, by the data processing hardware, a power consumption characteristic of the femtocell that results in a power consumption reduction of at least one of the data processing hardware or the power amplifier.
