    摘要: An apparatus for disinfecting lenses includes a single hand-held case with a lens compartment and a power supply compartment. A battery powered unit disposed within the power supply compartment responds to activation of a switch on the case to generate an electric current which is coupled to a pair of electrodes within the lens compartment to electrolyte a solution in the lens compartment and thereby disinfect lenses submerged in the solution. Disinfecting proceeds using a buffered solution to retain solution pH within predefined limits while enabling electrolysis with a large current of shorter duration to decreased disinfecting time. A lip circumscribing an upper opening of the lens compartment is covered with a single hinged cover member that lifts directly away from the lip, and a slidable retainer member is used to retain the cover member in a closed position. Ribs on the cover member retain the lenses submerged in the solution, and a hydrophobic element discharges gases produced by electrolysis. An enlarged ruthenium coated anode enhances electrolytic action while inhibiting catalytic degradation, while timing circuitry and indicators on the case enhance operator convenience.

A selector enables a system user to select any one of the stored diagnostic test protocols for conducting on a patient. The system is constructed to enable the selected diagnostic test protocol to be performed on a patient after the corresponding set of electrical conduits are connected to the universal interface contacts and to the patient. Further included is an electrical signal generator connected to the universal interface for providing electrical signals to the patent if such electric signals are required by the selected test protocol. Electrical signals are received by the system through the electrical conduits connected to the universal interface from a patient and an output corresponding to the received electrical signals is provided, the output including one or more of strip chart printer, conventional printer, modem, computer diskette, audio recorder and video recorder.

    摘要: An apparatus for storing and cleaning an element is disclosed. The apparatus includes a fluid containing receptacle having an open top and a cap having at least one opening therethrough for removably closing off the open top of the receptacle. The apparatus further includes an element retaining housing removably disposed internally of said receptacle. The housing has at least one opening therethrough fluidly communicating the interior of the housing with the exterior thereof. The apparatus also includes a resilient gasket mounted in the receptacle adjacent the opening in the cap. The gasket has normally closed valving means therein adapted to open upon a predetermined incrase in pressure within said receptacle to release the pressure through said valving means and out of said opening in said cap.

The unit has a retractable blade assembly which folds back into the unit and is electrically coupled to the heater for actuating the same. A push button, accessible from the exterior of the unit, is provided for actuating the heater. The covers of the lens case cannot be removed while heating the same.
