Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for synchronizing uplink (UL) and downlink (DL) traffic. In particular, frames associated with Quality of Service (QoS}-sensitive traffic flows to be transmitted in a first direction are prioritized commensurate with frames to be transmitted in a second direction, different/opposite to that of the first direction. For example, UL traffic flows can be prioritized based on DL traffic flows, where the traffic flows belong to the same application flow, and vice versa, where DL traffic flows can be prioritized based on UL traffic flows for the same application flow. In this way, end-to-end QoS can be achieved.

Abstract: Systems and techniques are described that are directed to intelligent scheduling of Wi-Fi services for applications, including enhanced dynamic prioritization. A device, such as an access point (AP), can receive data packets from multiple connected devices to dynamically identify an application flow for each data packet, and dynamically identify a user associated with the application flow for each data packet. The AP can generate prioritized candidate lists for selected data packets in queues corresponding to an access category (AC). In response to determining that the identified user associated with the application flow corresponds with a critical user, the AP can select data packets for the prioritized candidate lists based at least in part on priority policies for each of a plurality of applications and based at least in part on dynamic prioritization of applications for each of a plurality of applications; and schedule data packets from the prioritized candidate lists.

Abstract: Systems and methods for determining a physical location of access points in a wireless network that include a plurality of access points, the plurality of access points in the wireless network including anchor access points with respective known locations and unanchored access points without respective known locations, may include: a first plurality of unanchored access points neighboring the anchor access points receiving known-location information from the anchor access points, performing range measurements to the anchor access points to determine their respective locations in the wireless network, thereby becoming pseudo-anchor access points; a second plurality of unanchored access points in communicative contact with a plurality of the pseudo-anchor points receiving the determined-location information from the pseudo-anchor access points, performing range measurements to the pseudo-anchor access points to determine their respective locations in the wireless network, thereby becoming pseudo-anchor access points.

Abstract: Systems and methods for spatial reuse in a deployed wireless area network (WLAN) include identifying a plurality of competing APs of an external wireless network operating on a same channel as a deployed AP of a deployed wireless network; examining the received signal strength indicator (RSSI) of the identified plurality of competing APs of the external wireless network; filtering out selected one or more of the identified plurality of competing APs of the external wireless network based on their respective RSSIs to arrive at a filtered set of competing APs; and augmenting a spatial reuse group (SRG) of the deployed AP to include the APs in the filtered set of competing APs in the SRG.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for generating a client device fingerprint model and identifying client devices using the model. Identifying client devices includes monitoring traffic transmitted over a wireless network to an unknown first client device, the traffic using at least one value of at least one wireless network operational parameter; determining, for each at least one value of the at least one wireless network operational parameter, a respective probability of successful packet reception at the first client device; comparing each probability to a data model representing probabilities of successful packet reception at each of a plurality of known second client devices for each of a plurality of values of the wireless network operational parameter; and associating at least one of the labels of the second client devices with the first client device based on the compare.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for seamless roaming in a network. First, a client device is authenticated at a first access point of the network. Next, a processor selectively determines, among remaining access points in the network, second access points at which respective precursor keys, such as Pairwise Master Keys R1 (PMK-R1s) are to be computed. The second access points are determined based on any of respective path losses from the first access point to the second access points and respective historical frequencies at which the client device associates at the respective remaining access points. For the second access points, the respective PMK-R1s are computed and transmitted to the second access points to be cached. Next, following a request from the client device to reassociate to a second access point of the second access points, the client device is authenticated at the second access point based on a corresponding PMK-R1.

Abstract: Systems and methods for partitioning radio spectrum in an AP to support a mixed client environment while maintaining efficient 802.11ax transmissions is provided. Clients in a zone may be categorized into 802.11ax and legacy clients, and those clients may further be categorized into a majority population and a minority population. Assignment of the minority and majority populations can be effectuated by considering the number of available channels to be assigned to each population of client devices, as well as steering load/cost and a client device's ability to be steered to another channel. Moreover, assignment of the minority and majority populations can take into account maintaining a particular client-channel density.
