Abstract:
A method and system for an onboard reporting system capable of detecting keywords in voice data and considering the keywords in combination with respective predefined instructions is provided. The provided system uses, for each keyword, predefined instructions to validate the keyword prior to sending a report.
Abstract:
An aircraft synthetic vision display system (SVS) includes a topographical database including topographical information relating to an airport, a global positioning system receiver that receives a satellite signal from a global positioning satellite to determine a geographical position of the aircraft, and a ground-based augmentation system receiver that receives a ground-based signal from a ground-based transmitter associated with the airport, wherein the ground-based signal includes geographical information associated with the airport. The SVS further includes a computer processor that retrieves the topographical information from the topographical database based on the geographical position of the aircraft, that retrieves the geographical information associated with the airport, and that corrects the topographical information using the geographical information associated with the airport to generate corrected topographical information. Still further, the SVS includes a display device that renders three-dimensional synthetic imagery of environs of the aircraft based on the corrected topographical information.
Abstract:
A processor-implemented method in an aircraft for automatically providing alternate approach procedures is provided. The method comprises determining, by a processor in the aircraft, that a scheduled first approach procedure with a first runway cannot be performed; identifying, by the processor, a plurality of alternate approach procedures for use with the first runway; ranking, by the processor, the alternate approach procedures based on changes from the first approach procedure, wherein the alternate approach procedure that exhibits the least amount of change from the first approach procedure is the highest ranked alternate approach procedure; causing the ranked alternate approach procedures to be displayed on a cockpit display; receiving, by the processor, a selection of a ranked alternate approach procedure; and activating, by the processor, the selected approach procedure.
