Abstract: Receiver and method for accessing an access point of a wireless local area network. The receiver is configured both for communication with a cellular radio network node comprised in a cellular network, and for accessing the wireless local area network via the access point. The method comprises acquiring a cell ID from a memory of the receiver, which cell ID has been received from said node, matching the acquired cell ID with a cell ID stored in a table, together with at least one reference to an access point associated therewith, detecting the access point, which is associated with the acquired cell ID in the table by searching for the access point, and accessing the wireless local area network via the detected access point.

Abstract: A quality of service (QoS) resource allocation method and apparatus, where the method includes receiving service information from then, sending a QoS resource request message that carries the service information to a policy and charging rules function (PCRF) corresponding to the terminal, where the QoS resource request message requesting the PCRF to allocate a QoS resource to a terminal service, and receiving a request response message from the PCRF indicating whether the QoS resource is successfully allocated to the terminal service. The terminal can recognize the service information of the terminal service, and a specific implementation of sending, to the PCRF, the service information of the terminal service recognized by the terminal is put forward such that accuracy of a policy formulated by the PCRF is improved.

Abstract: A network performance improvement method and an apparatus for user equipment. In the network performance improvement method, user equipment establishes a first PDN connection and transmits data of a first application program through the first PDN connection.
