Abstract: An embodiment method, by a user equipment (UE), includes performing a channel measurement (CM) on a first subset of a set of non-zero-power (NZP) CSI reference signal (CSI-RS) resources and an interference measurement (IM) on at least a second subset of the set of NZP CSI-RS resources. The second subset includes one or more NZP CSI-RS ports. The IM is performed according to assumptions: each NZP CSI-RS port in the second subset corresponds to an interference transmission layer, the IM being in accordance with a set of energy per resource element ratios each associated with one NZP CSI-RS resource in the second subset; and other interference not associated with the interference transmission layers is on the first and second subsets. The method includes generating a channel state information (CSI) report based on the CM and IM and transmitting the CSI report to a network.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a user equipment (UE) receives, from an access node (AN), downlink control information (DCI) triggering a transmission of a sounding reference signal (SRS) of a SRS resource set. The DCI indicates a time-domain resource in available time-domain resources for transmitting the SRS resource set. The UE determines a position of the time-domain resource in the available time-domain resources based on the DCI, and transmits the SRS in accordance with the position of the time-domain resource. In another embodiment, a UE receives control information indicating a frequency resource in a carrier for transmission of one or more SRSs. The UE determines, based thereon, to segment the frequency resource into segments that each includes contiguous physical resource blocks (PRBs), and transmits a SRS in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol on a first segment and not on a second segment.

Abstract: A network controller may transmit, to a communication device, information about a portion of a sounding reference signal (SRS) bandwidth, where the SRS bandwidth has been configured for the communication device for transmitting a SRS resource set via radio resource control (RRC) signaling. The communication device may then transmit the SRS resource set in the portion of the SRS bandwidth, upon being triggered by a downlink control information (DCI) message. Abstract: According to embodiments, a UE receives, from a network device, a configuration of a sounding reference signals (SRS) resource with 8 antenna ports, a transmission comb configuration for the SRS resource, and a cyclic shift (CS) configuration for the SRS resource. The transmission comb configuration indicates a comb value K. K is one of 2, 4, or 8. The transmission comb configuration further indicates a configured comb offset (k). k is an integer between 0 and K−1. The CS configuration indicates CS positions. The UE maps each port of the 8 antenna ports to corresponding resource elements (REs) in the frequency domain and a corresponding CS. The corresponding REs are a subset of a plurality of REs and on every K-th RE with an offset based on the configured comb offset (k) within an SRS transmission bandwidth. The UE transmits SRSs using the 8 antenna ports based on the mapping.
